It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Actually, it doesn't look much like Christmas here, unless you count lots of rain and me running around like a crazy person trying to get things done.

First of all, thanks to everyone who has taken part in our destashing! We have raised over $1000 for Knitters Without Borders so far, and there is still yarn left if you're interested!

I made my holiday knitting list really really short this year, because I can't count on my wrist and let's face it, I've been wrapped up in spinning. One finished object that is safe to show are these Fuzzy Feet. It turns out that the person for whom I knit them doesn't have as small of feet as I thought, so I had to add some to the first one. Luckily I did have enough yarn. Also, this meant I could make them just about fit my feet. I figure if she needs to felt them some more, she can do that.

This post-felting shot is after two runs through the washer. I really thought they would lose more stitch definition, but they sure are comfy and warm, so I think it's fine.

I'm a bit early for Friday, but it's Friday somewhere, so here are some yarn pics.

I couldn't stand to see any little bit of my singles from my Rooster Rock Sheep 2 Shoe kit go to waste, so I made a little bit of 2-ply laceweight from what was left:

I also have a shot of some Zephyr in Mahogany. Nathania and I made a little trade -- I traded some gray Zephyr for this gorgeous color.

I'm going to knit a second Sarcelle out of this, unless I get a volunteer to knit one. Anyone interested? Leave me a comment. It needs to be done by early February.

Speaking of Sarcelle, a (blogless I believe) knitter named Alice sent me a picture of her Sarcelle with a nice note. She knit her Sarcelle in PoshYarns Felicity, which looks really nice.

Woohoo! $1k raised! What a big pat on the back you both deserve! And such pretty laceweight yarns! Those fuzzy feet look especially cozy too.

Great job! That is a wonderful donation!

Funny how you can still really see the stitches on the fuzzy feet - they almost don't look felted (though I'm sure they feel it!)

I would love to knit a Sarcelle for you. I've had it in my mind since you posted the pattern! I have the whole month of January off, too!

Kristi, the Fuzzy Feet are great! And Wow! 1K! That's such an awesome thing-you girls truly rock!

One thing that works for me in felting is to knit the item at a much looser gauge than recommended for the yarn - the additional space in the stitches gives it some extra room to move around in the felting process, which helps to get it all matted up.

Kristi, I'll knit the Sarcelle for you if you like. Let me know.

Ooh, I'll knit it! What do you need it for?

Also, $1K? Wow, you guys rock. Seriously.

I know it makes me #4 on the list, but I'd absolutely love to knit you a Scarcelle. I love knitting lace but don't really wear scarves so I always give them away, so a perfect fit!
