Socktoberfest is coming to a close! This month went by really quickly, and I didn't get as much done sock-wise as I might have hoped. I did, however, finish one of my handspun socks:
I, um ... have to spin more yarn if I plan on making a second. Sigh.
I also may have added to my Lorna's Laces sock stash. Maybe.
There was a sale, and you didn't get to pick the colors ... I'd say they did pretty well. One problem being that already owned one of the colors, but that means they mostly understood my general color preferences. I really like this one, it's an old color, Sockknitter's Spring Sunset:
Oh, and ALERT! I put the beloved ball of Lorna's camo in my purse this morning with some needles. This yarn may be knitted yet. I also started a sock with my other handspun. Pics when there is actually a pattern visible, and not just a cuff.
Nice enhancement! I saw the same sale, but wanted solids as I have a ton of handpaints...sadly (or maybe best for my wallet!) they said they couldnt' do all solids....
The first handspun sock looks so cozy! I love the pattern!
Posted by: stacey at October 31, 2006 11:43 AMI like how you casually mention "there was a sale..."
Your handspun socks are so pretty!
Posted by: monica at October 31, 2006 12:57 PMWell the one sock is great, so you defnitely need to spin more!
Posted by: Rebekah at October 31, 2006 1:25 PMYay, homespun socks! You should totally spin more yarn to make a 2nd.
Posted by: Margit at October 31, 2006 2:22 PMTime flies when you're having fun doesn't it?
I'm totally impressed with your handspun sock, really, really amazing.
Posted by: schrodinger at October 31, 2006 4:59 PMOh, and here I thought you may have managed to get your hands on some of that mint chip?!
Posted by: JulieFrick at October 31, 2006 6:32 PMThat sock looks cozy. Can you destash the color you already have of the Lorna's Laces? Or is there no destashing of Lorna's Laces allowed? ;)
Posted by: Abigail at October 31, 2006 9:38 PMSale? Is there still a sale? Where does one find out about these sales?
*wants more sock yarn, conveniently forgetting about current yarn diet*
Posted by: G. Knerd at November 1, 2006 12:16 AMI'm so jealous of your handspun sock!! It looks great :)
Posted by: aija at November 1, 2006 5:29 AMlovely socks out of the handspun, the yarn and pattern really came together nicely. (That color is so seasonally appropritate.)
Lorna's Laces. LOTSA Lorna's Laces! I have yet to use this yarn, but will treat myself to some post-Christmas. I can't wait to get my little fingers on it!
That handspun sock is amazing. Looks so soft and luxurious feeling!
