Show of hands, please!

So who's going to see the Yarn Harlot at Full Thread Ahead this weekend? I was thinking of stopping by at around 2 to sign up for the "zone" thing*** and then having a nice outdoor picnic style lunch somewhere within walking distance. You can pack your own lunch, or pick something up from the nearby AG Ferrari (great sandwiches, menu unfortunately not online) or Le Boulanger.

So give me a show of hands:

1) Who's going to see the Harlot?
2) Who wants to do lunch? Or keep me company in anticipation of the Harlot?

Now I have some motivation to finish my sweater by then! I would show you a picture but it looks exactly the same as last time except shorter and with better fitting armholes. Ripping out those seams took FOREVER and involved CUTTING the knitting at several points. I wish I'd had a camera to take a picture of the poor cut knitting.

*** EDIT: Because I couldn't find it on the Full Thread Ahead website, I thought I'd post this info from the FTA email in case anybody missed it:

Yarn Harlot - More Details - September 9th

We'll open at 2pm on Saturday, September 9th and you may check in with us anytime after that. You will be assigned a "zone" for a book signing time on a first come, first served basis. You must RSVP, otherwise you'll be assigned the last zone automatically - a wait that can last until 9pm- so get those RSVPs in!

We'll begin setting up seating at 3:30 pm (when the city lets us close the street) and seats will be available to hold shortly after that.

You have no idea who I am, but I just moved to the area from VT and have been lurking for a little while. I'm going to see the Harlot! I was going to show up around 2:00 to do the zone thing as well. And if you don't mind meeting up with total (harmless) strangers, I'd be happy to join you.

I would LOVE to go, but it's a bit of a trip for me :) Have fun with the Harlot.

I'd love to meet up with you (we met at the WWKIP day in June), but I'm not sure what time we'll be heading up there. Sooner, rather than later would be my preference, but I'm picking up a friend first. Let me know what area you might be hanging out around, and I'll try to find you.

I plan to go. I didn't see that email and didn't realize it started so early. Hmm.

Wow, that's some operation theyre running there! Zones? Street closings? Are you sure that email wasnt about the Bay Bridge retrofit or something. Unfortunately I will be out of town-- sounds like it will be the place to go though. Have fun...

If I lived closer I'd so be there! She needs to make a stop in the LA area!

I'll be there with Seltsame, although I'm a little concerned that I didn't get that email, even though I got confirmation that I had a spot. I'll have to contact them again.

I'll be there to see her! I think I may be relegated to the back though, won't be too early... now I need to see how early I should be now though. (After seeing the pics of her trip to Seattle... oy!)

Yup, CJ and I will be there by 2 and definitely join you.

I'm going! I RSVP'd online but didn't get that email either. I'll probably get there around 3:00. I'd love to meet up with y'all, if I can find you in the horde! Closing the street? Omg!!

Heck Yeah I'll be there 'cause I'm working the event. Alas, that will mean that I can't join you for lunch.

Just so you know, she's scheduled to speak at 5:30, but the earlier you check-in, nab your Signing Zone Pass, and sit your tush in a seat for the talk, the happier you might be. Bring some knitting and chat up with other knitters (I kinda want "My Blog is" nametags ;) )

Full details about the event should go up on the blog very soon.

If the Zone thing is confusing, it is just the signing that is by zone (after the talk) and we'll be calling each zone group one at a time, sequentially.

ToodleLoo TweedleLee, it is going to be so awesome. Harloteers, Unite!

Hmmm... Janice and I have been trying to figure out when is the best time to arrive. I don't really want to spend my entire Saturday there. But checking in right at 2 and then picnicking for a couple of hours sounds like the best idea yet. I'll look for you!

Definitely going. Must arrange child care so I probably can't get there until 4pm...
