I wanted to do a post for Cookie's contest (not that I would be entered, but just for fun), but it's near 6 a.m. now, and I just can't do it. It's too early! I have a flight to Denver in about 2 hours for a friend's wedding.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased a Sarcelle pattern! I'm so excited to start seeing people knitting it!
I thought I should update on my progress, quickly. I have finished my first Ripple and Weave sock:
The second one is started. Hopefully I'll get lots done on my way to and from Denver.
Also, I haven't shown any pics of my handspun in a while. A week or so ago I finally gave my third skein it's nice little soak and hung it to dry, so now I can compare all three skeins (Don't worry, they aren't meant to be consistent between skeins, I'm learning on this wool!):
The progression goes from left to right, earliest to latest. I really think it's starting to look like "real yarn".
And the newest skein, alone:
Ok, I better go get ready. Have a great Labor Day Weekend!
I wanted to leave with some updates on my progress.
I'm loving the ripple and weave sock, another great design.
Your spinning is really coming along isn't it? It's great that you are able to see the improvement as you go along.
Posted by: schrodinger at September 2, 2006 11:35 AMThat sock really whizzed along! My ripple and weave is headed towards camera cozy doom. That's what I get for using size 0 needles and being impatient.
Posted by: freecia at September 2, 2006 4:44 PMwow, you really can see the difference among the three hanks. looks like you are learning super quick!! awesome job; i'm so impressed by spinners.
Posted by: al at September 2, 2006 5:46 PMNice sock - it reminds me a lot of the Potamatus, in a way! (I'm finishing the second Potamatus now, maybe I'll try this sock next.)
Posted by: Jocelyn at September 3, 2006 12:16 AMYou can see a big difference between skeins! It looks great! You are a natural. :)

Posted by: Michelle at September 3, 2006 6:12 PMSorry to respond here, I lost your email. Thank you! I'm hoping to be online as well before too much longer, so you could at least be a virtual customer. Maybe you could talk me into some spinner fiber discounts...
