It's hot in herre

Possibly too hot to knit. I haven't knit in DAYS! What I have done is:

Dye yarn. I tried to achieve a pink/red/violet feel, but this ended up much more orange than I wanted. Hrm. I think Kristi would really like this color. Or maybe I'll overdye. It's for a particular someone, so getting the right color is actually somewhat important.

Dyed Yarn

Bake cookies. I try to live up to my name. This doesn't help to cool down the apartment.

Cookies!

Buy yarn. What yarn is so luxurious each skein deserves to be boxed individually?

Little boxed Cashmina

That's right, I bought 8 balls of Jaeger Cashmina at an absurd price. I would have bought more, but there were only 8 left. This yarn is going right into the stash and is awaiting The Perfect Project. I'm thinking cabled tee possibly, but this yarn is so precious I'll probably do a test knit in another yarn to check yardage.

Cashmina

Oh yeah, in case you couldn't tell, Kristi and I are moving to bigger pictures. Now with 100% bigger knitting! (Actually, I think it's at least 200% bigger, but whatever.)

Comments

Maybe it's so the yarn doesn't get infected by the touch of any substandard yarn? ;)

The cookies look so good! Oh, and the yarn, too!

Is the Cashmina cable-spun? It sort of looks like it fromthe photos... I can't wait to see what you do with it. It looks divine.
The cookies, also, look delicious and decadent. I feel like I'm gaining weight just looking at them. ;)

Those cookies look scrumptious! I like the color of the yarn you dyed.

And the Cashmina looks wonderful. I can only imagine how soft it must be!

Dye yarns? Bake cookies? OMG ... that would just fire up the apartment even more! I don't even want to cook.

I don't know whether to drool over the cookies or the yarn. YUMMMY!

I just love individually packaged yarn. That yarn calls out to be petted regularly, so I guess the box is protection.

I love the bigger pictures and am interested in how you did it. So far, I can't seem to manage that on Typepad. Also, love the dyed yarn. It reminds me of a Southern California sunset. Very beautiful. And the Jaeger, well, all I can say is you lucky duck!

those cookies look really yummy. it has been way to hot to knit in illinois as well, and i feel ridiculous knitting handwarmers in july. i did finish 1.75 of them though.

I've also been dyeing and buying to beat the heat! No cookies though, I'm sticking to popsicles.
