Buttons!

I finished the Tess sweater. I am going to ship it off today in the hopes that it will fit my nephew for a few days longer that way. We are going to visit them in 2 weeks, but I really think it would be better not to wait! Here's the finished sweater:

I love these buttons. I got them at Full Thread Ahead. My SIL loves dogs and the nephew's room is all decked out in doggy stuff, so I thought these were perfect.

Again, the pattern specs:

Lace Leaf Baby Cardigan from Tess' Designer Yarns with a Tess' Designer Yarn Super Sock and Baby yarn. The edges are done in Cherry Tree Hill Supersock. I knit this on size 3s making for a larger gauge than that called for. having no idea what size babies are, please keep your fingers crossed for me that this sweater will fit the nephew. Otherwise there better be another baby in the family soon!

And on the other end of the size spectrum, I've been working on the much larger Bookworm sweater from Miss Bea's Rainy Day. This, I fear, will be much too large for the nephew for a while, but I know that's better than too small! Anyway, I finished the neckband. This evening I picked up the stitches for the sleeve and have done an inch or two of that, but have no pics of that:

Yay, baby sweaters! I think those buttons are awesome. And the Miss Bea sweater is looking pretty good.

I used to think that the garment was the item, but I've come to realize that a good button really enhances a garment, just as a bad one can detract. Very cute!

Those buttons are so cute it hurts! :)

I'm definitely doing in the round, picking up stitches next time I knit a Miss Bea's sweater.

Hi from Austria! I love your Tess sweater, it's turned out so beautiful - and the buttons do crack me up, they're probably the cutest I've ever seen! Great work done!

Love those doggie buttons. Will have to check out the button selection the next time I'm at FTA. Since I went for snaps on the last sweater, I went to JoAnn's instead.
