Thanks to everybody who has bought the Katrina Rib pattern. I am looking into ways to maximize the contribution. So far, the best plan I have is to donate the money through my friend who works for General Growth Properties. For the first 30 $5 patterns sold, I will match 100% and donate $10 to the GG Employee Fund. The end result is that $10 will go to Katrina victims who are also GG Employees. Another $20 will go to the Red Cross for Katrina Aid. So each $5 pattern turns into $30 for Katrina aid. If you know of better plans, please let me know.
Also, Margene and Susan have set up a page for knitters giving to Hurricane Katrina Relief. If you have purchased the $5 Katrina Rib pattern, go ahead and list the entire contribution as yours.
