yarn thievery!

SOMEONE STOLE MY YARN!!! I placed an order with Webs a few weeks ago, and it hadn't arrived, so I finally called them. I thought I'd give them some time because they're often slow, but three weeks is really pushing it. Well apparently UPS dropped it off TWO WEEKS ago without a signature, and somebody stole my yarn! STOLE IT! What does a thief even do with yarn? Do they knit? Sell it on some sort of yarn black market? UGH. And some of that yarn was on closeout, so I don't know if they still have it in stock. Webs said they'd send out another shipment with signature required, and I don't have to pay anything extra, so that's very nice of them. All in all, I'm still a happy Webs customer. But pissed at the thieves, those jerks!

In the meantime I'll just have to pet the laceweight bamboo yarn I got from Habu's booth at the FiberArts Market. Mmm, silky soft. I love it!

Bummer! I hope you can everything replaced.

So, whatcha gonna knit with the bamboo???? Inquiring minds want to know.

I cannot beleive that someone took your yarn. Damn them. But you have some very yummy yarn to console yourself with.

And just think how disappointed the typical person would be with a box of yarn. In fact, that person is probably cursing you for ordering such useless stuff. :)

That sucks that your yarn got stolen.

I want to feel how silky the bamboo yarn is!

Hrm. Something very wacky is going on with the comments. Looking into it....

Since I didn't get email notices, I'll respond here:

Janice: Not sure what I'll do with the bamboo. For now it's a stash beautifier. :-) Someday in the faraway future I'll probably knit something lacy with it. Or maybe a mindless stockinette top. Who knows?

Jody: Thanks for stopping by the blog! The thing that makes me even madder is that I'm *sure* the thieves are not appreciating my yarn anywhere near as much as it should be appreciated. BAH!

Now really what is theh world coming to, when they start stealing yarn! Hmmm, maybe it was a bird and they wanted to build a really nice nest for winter. I'll check basil's cage and see if he was the culprit.

Yarn pilfererers??? The noive!! I wonder what they *thought* they were stealing.

That bamboo looks gorgeous. I've pet some before (I think the SWTC bamboo) and am amazed by how soft it is... but how well does it block & wear? must try some myself....

Mmmmm Bamboo! The Habu booth was lovely - full of very tempting stuff.

Any chance the yarn was dropped off "around back" or "at the neighbor's"? I only use one of the two gates to my back yard regularly.. if someone put a box behind the 2nd gate, I might not know for weeks. Or..what if they tucked the box behind a bush or something?? Don't give up! It might be there!

Bastards! I did a yarn trade with StitchinGirl and about three weeks after I sent my stuff to her I was gardening and found the box she sent me in some bushes on the other side of my porch. So I was cussing out my postal delivery person. But I hope you get your yarn either way.
