The Kinzel pattern is going soooooooo slowly. And I feel the need to post progress on *something* here, so I've begun Yet Another Project. But this one is chunky, so hopefully it will be a quick knit.
That's the very beginning of a sleeve. It's being modelled on a DDR (Dance Dance Revolution for those not in the know) gamepad there. Because you see, as the Queen of multiple unfinished projects (Q-mup?), I thought it made sense to throw in a gratuitous DDR picture, since this blog was reincarnated as a DDR blog before transforming into a knitblog. Before that? Ah, the mystery. And the DDR? Well, it can be considered an unfinished project. But I've been playing again recently. So see, for all my little cast aside knitting projects, someday I may come back to you and give you the love you deserve.
The sleeves aren't knit straight up, but spirally instead. I tried writing out calculations for it and figuring out angles, and I finally decided that it would be simpler to just knit and increase as I see fit.
I'm using Jaeger Chamonix which knits to about 3.5 st/in on size US 10.5 needles. The color is Toulouse which is a dark olivy green. I'm going to use Amiens (a creamy mushroom color) for the main body.
I am IN LOVE with this yarn. It's so soft and easy to knit.

Wow, that cable sweater is amazing! Can't wait to see your version of it!
Posted by: Lisa D. at July 7, 2005 8:45 AMOkay, I'm officialy very jealous. That sweater is gorgeous, and I'm sure yours will be too. I can only hope that someday I will be a good enough knitter to make my own designs.
Hey, do you still want to split the 10-pack of Filtes King Van Dyck for Tava Durham's Lace Leaf sweater? If so, let me know. If not, no worries - I know you are still working on the destash. ;)
