Score!!!

So K and I went to the Lace Museum yesterday. They have wedding lace on display right now, and it is very cool. They have the Rose of England, knitted by one of their members, on display. It's very pretty. I love the Lace Museum.

And this is where I let you in on a secret. The Lace Museum is the best place to buy Addi Turbos for lace knitting. They carry small sizes in all lengths (except they seem to have run out of 60" needles recently), and they are less than $10. All the proceeds go to the museum, so it's a good deal and charitable.

But my favorite thing about the Lace Museum visit yesterday? I bought these two books from them:

For $25 and $27 respectively. Click on the Knitting Lace book to see how much it costs on Amazon. Holy bejeebus. After reading through the book, I have to say that I like it very much. There is a section on biased knitting that is very informative with useful pictures of the different effects of increase/decrease pairs, a better treatment than I've seen elsewhere. I will probably start the cover sampler scarf as a side project once I figure out what yarn to use. Should the sampler scarf be knit with laceweight or fingering weight yarn?

Also, K and I joined to become Museum members which allows us to check out books from their library (admittedly their knitting section is quite small), get their quarterly newsletter, and go to meetings which are on the second Sundays of the month. I still need to get information for joining the Lacy Knitters Guild which meets on the second Saturday of the month, so I can have one lace intensive weekend per month!

Oh, and before you call the Lace Museum asking for those books, I'm pretty sure K and I have cleared out their knitting book section by now. They also don't take credit cards, so you'd have to live in the area.

Gosh - the cost Lewis book) is like what people are selling their "Principles of Knitting" for. Happy u got a good price. It is a good book I agree.

The Lace Knitting I received as a gift several years ago. I enjoy just sitting and looking at it. The charts are great and easy to read for both hand and machine knitting. Don't you just love it?
