These ostriches are looking all over for an update to the blog! Maybe they should check in the sand or something:
A (the dh) and I went down to the Central Coast wine country last week, so there was no posting. And C couldn't post because I brought the camera! So I thought I'd share a pic from Ostrichland in Buellton. It's kind of mean, because about 50 feet from there, they sell the ostrich meat. But the ostriches were sort of fun to look at, even though I am very afraid of birds, and those are very large birds.
But the exciting thing!
I finished my stole!!! I now have to block it, but I think we need to buy some blocking wires for that process, so that may wait a bit. I'm excited to see how it will all work out. I'll take lots of pics.
Now I'm working on my doily again, and it's moving right along. I should be done in the next 2-3 weeks, if my current progress continues.
Also, tonight just started working on the third bridesmaid wedding stole, but this one will be much easier. I cast on 50 stitches of Kidsilk Haze on size 15 needles and I'm going garter stitch bay-bee. Whew.
Tomorrow (or the next day) I'll tell you all about C's and my trip to Sacramento for her wedding dress fitting and our pitstop at Lacis in Berkeley ... you know, just to avoid traffic for a bit. Also, look forward to some notes on knitting books I checked out of the library.
Woot!
Can't wait to see the stole! I bet the ostriches will pull their heads out of the ground for that.
