butterfly progress

So... I've made some progress on Butterfly. I finished the back this weekend and am at the decreases on the left front. I'm doing it in order because I'm boring. More mods include changing the garter stitch border to moss stitch. Also, I was supposed to decrease the border, but have decided to keep the 4 stitch border and decrease inside it. I'm not sure about that idea, but we'll see. That part I wouldn't mind ripping back should it fail.

I'm really liking the softness of the Silk Garden, especially knowing it'll soften up even more after I wash. I've run into one knot, but luckily I don't care about matching stripes. If anything I'd like them to look random, so that's all good. The only thing that would make me like this colorway more is if it had less black.

Progress pictures:

I was tempted to break my diet to buy some Jo Sharp Silk Road Aran from Elann, but alas they sold out of every color but beige and yellow by the time I looked. And as much as yellow is K's color, I don't think this particular shade would be good for her. And then the beige disappeared before my eyes.

I broke my diet to buy the Silkroad Tweed. But I'm supplementing something that I already had in my stash!

Haha! I like what Monica said, "supplementing". It's not really a "new" purchase if it's for an existing project, right?

Your Butterfly is looking gorgeous !
I love that Silk Garden colour.Won't the neck edge be hidden under the collar ?

Hrm. You're right about the neck edge, but I've been considering shortening the collar a little bit. I'm midgetous and want everything around me to be midgetous too. :-)

I may have to "supplement" my yarn stash with a lot of Silkroad Aran Tweed (enough to make a sweater or five) in a couple weeks regardless of where I am with my projects. One thing my stash is short on is aran weights. So see, I *need* it.
