I killed the evil vest

I wasn't going to post today, but J's flight has been delayed until 3:30am!!! So here we go. I decided that before purchasing anymore yarn or even dyeing any more, I have to finish two of my currently unfinished projects. That a lot of projects.

So. I've revived the pink vest from the past. I thought it would be simple. I had already picked up the stitches on the front left. All I had to do was do the front edges and the armhole edges. Simple.

Ha!!!

The before picture:

After doing the edging:

I picked up too many stitches. You see, as I recall, I was on the plane when I was knitting this, and I finished the body and neck much faster than I thought I would, so I figured I might as well pick up some stitches on the side. Then I stopped because those needles were the wrong size to get the right gauge. I did not remember this when I picked this up again until lo and behold it looked all wrong!

So what did I do? Well, I was so very mad at the vest. In fact, I realized that I would never wear it. I don't like vests. My arms just look huge in them. I don't need that. I had considered giving it to my friend Angee, but upon further evaluation realized she doesn't like fuschia. At all.

So. I did something truly horrendous.

That's right. I cut that sucker up and felted the pieces. Die evil vest!!! So some of it will go to who knows what, but the rectangular pieces will hopefully be sewn up into another purse. Yeah, as soon as I get some thread.
