Guess what. I dyed more yarn yesterday. :-)
One hank of mohair and one hank of wool in green/yellow/turquiose (you can't really see much turquoise in the picture but there's a little bit, and yes, that was even intentional!). The mohair is beautiful. I wound it into a ball, and the entire time I kept thinking to myself "I'm not worthy of knitting you, little one. You should remain a precious ball forever."
I intended to make the matching set so I could double strand them and knit a nice fuzzy hat. But now I'm not so sure. It's just so pretty. Doesn't it deserve more than mere hatdom?
And... swatches! The upper left is the light blue alpaca/wool knit on size 5 needles. The upper right is the charcoal alpaca knit on size 6 needles. (Size 5 is the way to go apparently.) And on the lower left and right we have a felted swatch of those precious red and green wools I dyed last week.
Careful, once you start thinking that yarn is too pretty to knit the stash swells out of control.
Boy howdy. My stash is already out of control. I just reorganized it today. Now I've got one under-bed bin completely filled. And it's expanded into another drawer, which is almost full. That's not including about 4 pounds of wool on a cone. Egads.
But. No more yarn purchasing until I finish another project. I swear!!!

Posted by: Mary at July 11, 2004 8:26 AMHaha, see all I've got left now is a tiny tiny amount of red, a little bit of yellow, and a lot of turquoise, so greens and blues it'll be for me.
