Hm

So I feel like I should add an update even though there hasn't been any progress really. I haven't worked on K's wrist warmers in a while, nor have I worked on my right wrist warmer. I've experimented with two colored knitting some more, and that's actually going okay if painfully slow. I'll have to put pictures of that up when I have something more presentable. Oh, I guess I did knit a scarf out of the flourescent orange Paton's Divine.

Ok, so onto the more exciting news: I finally got some yarn ordered!!! Yes, my stash grows bigger every week, yet I continue to gather more yarn. But you see, I've made progress. I'm trying not to buy yarn unless I have some vision of what I'll do with it.

For example, I bought some Red Heart Plush in Pistachio and Caron Simply Soft in Grey Heather to make a sweater. It's going... very slowly. And is it just me or is Red Heart Plush *exactly* the same as TLC Amore?

So what about the big order K and I just went in on? Well, I got some grey and light blue alpaca/wool blend, and that's going to be used on yet another painfully slow sweater. In fact, the green/grey one is really just an experimental one with cheaper thicker yarn to see if it's even doable. I'm hoping the alpaca/wool blend will be easier to work with than the Red Heart Plush.

We also got a bunch of white worsted weight wool yarn that we're going to dye. Oooh! And some white chunky varied weight wool that we'll also be dying. The worsted weight will probably become a sweater or turn into smaller felting projects. The chunky wool will either be so successful that I order more and make an entire blanket out of it, or I will make some scarves with (we didn't order so much of it).

I also got some books.

Against all better judgment, I ordered Norsk Strikkedesign, but hey Amazon says I should expect to get it in 4-5 weeks, so maybe I'll be skilled enough for it by then.

I was going to get Vogue Knitting, but apparently Amazon doesn't carry it anymore. :( I was also going to get Denim People, but I'd have to pre-order it from Amazon, so I opted for Norsk Strikkedesign instead of those two.

I also got a subscription to Interweave Knits (first issue should be coming in May or June) and The Knitters Book of Finishing Techniques. The latter is the only one I'll get anytime soon.

w00t!
