Huh, so I guess I'm in this meta thing. Hopefully at this point, everyone who's read anything from here is convinced it's the most boring knitting blog ever (except for K who I'm sure would rather have me get on my ass and knit some more) and gets no traffic and serves purely as an egomaniacal outlet.
Excellent.
So I think I'm at the point in my knitting that I realize this sweater is going to take FOREVER and that it would be easier to just start a new one that's less complicated. Perhaps one in the round that only has the pattern at the bottom. Hm. I think really I'm just frustrated that 1. I messed up already (granted, I could work around it, but the perfectionist slacker in me cringes) and 2. that it's impossible to identify stitches in the plush yarn, so I can't tell how many rows I've done. I'm about 1/14th of the way through. At this rate, I'll be done when it's too hot to wear a sweater.
Here is the first half of the front right side of the sweater. As you can see, the shaping is all wrong on the left. The gauge is different for the solid section than the two colored section, so I miscalculated and ended up having too much of a slope. Wow, the colors came out awful. It's actually a light green and grey.
Oh! The big WEBS yarn order shipped today!!! Soon, I will have my first experience with wool/alpaca blend yarn.
Alpaca is so fun to work with. I knit my sister a hat for Xmas out of alpaca yarn---it was just as soft as you can possibly imagine. I actually had two different people give me some blue alpaca yarn for Xmas, and I still haven't figured out what I want to do with it.
