Workout: Yoga for Strength: session 2
Author: chaos

I ended up taking a slightly longer hiatus from this forum than I originally anticipated. Not quite such a long break from yoga, though I have been relatively infrequent with my practices for the past two weeks. Mostly I’ve branched out to a new set of videos, the Living Yoga: Power Yoga for Beginners series. So far I’ve tried out the Stamina and Strength videos, and recently placed an order for the DVD which includes both of those as well as the Flexibility video. It makes for a nice departure from the slower pace of the Yoga for Strength disc that I’ve been working with. The Power Yoga series doesn’t concentrate as much on the poses, instead giving more of an aerobic workout. At the same time, it does manage to challenge you, particularly the strength one. I’m looking forward to having both discs available to allow more variety in my workouts, enabling me to vary depending on mood.
Had a session two workout today, nothing terribly exciting. Had a good crane pose, that was pretty much the highlight of the workout. Pendulum pose went a little bit better, I think I’ve gotten a touch stronger since I last did this session. I still haven’t managed to find a picture for pendulum pose on the web. It’s probably called something else, and I just haven’t come across it yet. Anyway, I think it’s about time to call it a night. I’ll try and update somewhat more frequently than the last few weeks, though perhaps not quite as often as I started out.

Workout: Yoga for Strength: session 1
Author: chaos

Another session one workout today. It was a pretty good workout, I think. Very smooth, no struggles with poses, only very light soreness in a few muscles. My mood was far lighter as well… it didn’t have the feel of forcing myself through the workout, but instead there was the desire to continue to grow in my practice. So I think I’ve overcome my negative feelings of a few weeks ago, and am ready to continue with my practice on a daily basis.
In terms of the practice itself, it was a pretty solid session one practice, with only one particular bit standing out. After holding dog pose for two minutes, I didn’t feel as though I were completely at my limit, as I have all the other times that I’ve done it. In fact, I felt as though I could probably have held it for at least another half minute, possibly another full minute. This is another good sign that my strength is increasing, even if it occasionally feels like it’s going nowhere.
That’s about all for now… I expect I’ll probably be increasing the frequency of my practices again, and quite likely the frequency of posting here as well.
