Cookie is off at the Blue Moon sock camp, and all I have is this tiny pair of socks:
(Quarter for scale)
You may recall my love for the Lorna's Laces camo colorway. Given that, it would be hard for me to let my leftovers go to waste. What better way than to knit a pair of baby socks for a baby due soon? I have enough left over for at least one more pair of baby socks if I want, but I'll let that go for a bit. The pattern for these socks is an Interweave pattern by Ann Budd (PDF link), available free on their website. My only modification was to use size 1s instead of 0s, more for my sanity than anything else.
Oh, and if I still feel lonely with Cookie off at sock camp, I have this yarn to look at:
Handpainted yarn from The Sanguine Gryphon in the Venezuela colorway.
I'm lonely about Sock Camp too! I bet they're having a blast. ;-)

Posted by: Cynthia at April 10, 2007 6:06 AMWhat if a bunch of crazy knitters got together and crashed sock camp? Can we do that?
Posted by: elizabeth at April 10, 2007 7:53 AMaugh, that yarn is just too good to be true. and the roving they are selling is amazing. i've never seen 100% tencel roving before. it's so shiny! very silky-looking! i may have to get some of my own now...

Posted by: carrieknits at April 10, 2007 9:36 AMCute socks! I know what you mean about LL & size 0's. I did a pair of LL toddler socks on size 1's and thought myself nuts.
I hear you about sock camp. My buddy went too, but she's supposed to get me some yummy yarn so I don't feel so badly about not going.
Posted by: C. at April 10, 2007 9:36 AMThanks for that pattern--I have some leftover Lorna's Laces in Somerset that is just screaming to get back on the needles!
Posted by: Heather at April 10, 2007 12:30 PMThe baby socks are adorable, and the new yarn? Droolworthy. You're lucky I'm in Seattle, or that yarn might mysteriously disappear...
