And then there were 3 ... bobbins

Just because I wasn't in Toronto like Cookie doesn't mean that I didn't get to have some fun this weekend. Linda had some gals over for a knitting mini-retreat, and she is one amazing hostess! She and Jill and I think Tina made us some great food and drinks, and we all got to spin and knit! Here's some photo evidence:

Linda and Jean -- check out Linda's extremely full needle case!

And finally Tina looking very cozy in the corner of the couch, knitting a shawl:

Margit and I spent the whole time spinning. Margit finished off her singles of soy silk (check out the finished yarn!) while we were there, and I finished up my Sheep 2 Shoe singles later that afternoon at home. [Sheep 2 Shoe kit from Blue Moon in Rooster Rock colorway, to be 3-ply yarn]

The next day, I started plying ...

... I'm still plying. But I'm loving the product!

Anna finished her Sarcelle. I think the sea silk with Sarcelle is beautiful!

I love how the colors look all plied together, they are going to make some great socks.

Tina looks PISSED!

The yarn is looking awesome! I can't wait to see it in a shoe. In actual sock form. w00t!

That yarn looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see the socks you make out of it!

You used navajo plying to preserve the solid color chunks, right?

Wow that is beautiful sock yarn! I love the way the colors plied up. I foresee happy knitting and happy feet.

Beautiful spinning! I can't wait to see what you get from it. I have a kit as well. Been wanting to try 3-ply.

You're making some excellent progress on that plying. 8 ounces of fiber makes a whole lot of yarn!

that is a lot of spinning and plying!! The yarn looks wonderful though! Can't wait to see the next phase - knitting!

Your S2S looks awesome! You totally inspired me on Sunday and I immediately came home and started on some merino that needed to be finished up. I kept spinning yesterday, got 2 oz on the bobbin and couldn't wait to try a navajo ply on it. I love it! I love the way the color blocks stay together. And even with a 3 ply (I planned singles for a 2ply when I started a while back), I came out with sock weight! Thanks for the inspiration! I'm practicing a bit more with some llama that I got at the Taos Wool Fest before I get out my S2S kit.

Your sock yarn is so beautiful! Someday I'll be good enough for that kit. It's good to have a goal :)

Happily knitting away without a child in tow, even! :)

Your sock yarn is really pretty.

Totally off subject, but do you know when your deep V-Neck cable sweater pattern will be done? I love it!
