Popsicle socks licked

Thanks to Abigail for the nice title for my post.

That's right, I finished the popsicle socks. In fact, I finished the popsicle socks, and have worn them and washed them already. I am a little late on the posting because DH and I went to Chicago for a few days to see his family.

Without further ado, I present to you my "Popsicle" socks:

As you can guess, they were so named by me for the colorway.

And the action shot:

These socks were knit on size 1 dpns in Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton Fun (Color 333 -- I like Popsicle better). I basically winged the pattern, using the Judy's Magic Cast-On from Knitty. I used the afterthought heel, and in an experiment decided to do a sewn cast-off for the second sock so I could compare it with a regular bind-off using a size 3 dpn. The sewn cast-off is definitely stretchier.

I'm currently working on what I'm calling "Baby's First Pair of Socks" for a little one born last Thursday -- she was a month earlier than expected, so I'm a bit behind!

Comments

horay for the sewn bind off - its great isn't? not the neatest, but neater than doing a regular bind off on large needle I thought

which afterthought heel did you do?

Very cute, but I don't think I'd lick them might end up with a very dry tongue.

Mmmm... popsicles. They look great -- now that they both have cuffs! Neat application of afterthought heels to maintain the striping.

Basically nothing seems worth thinking about. I haven't been up to much these days. I just don't have much to say right now. I can't be bothered with anything , but whatever.
