Calling all people with opinions!
What do you think of my start on this scarf?
This is the beautiful, amazing, Leprechaun yarn from Santa Cruz Handspun. I'm not sure if what I'm doing with this really shows off the yarn to its full potential. I would continue to snake back and forth just like I have been.
Any thoughts?
I love it! The way it snakes back and forth is so cool...what a fun scarf to wear. :)
Posted by: Jackie at May 13, 2006 3:56 AMReally nice! The color and name go together well. Changes? - maybe add rows to make it a little more curvy? (It's a tad more angular as I see it)
Posted by: Terry at May 13, 2006 9:02 AMI dunno, I don't think it is photographing well. It looks a bit muddy. Do the colors show off the way you want them to in person? Cause over the web, they kinda munge together a bit.
Posted by: spinnity at May 14, 2006 1:11 AMCool! It's like my friend Tina's Keani scarf (http://www.loomknit.com/Keani.html), but hers is for the knitting loom, not for needles.
Posted by: Miriam at May 14, 2006 5:38 AMYea, I don't know. Could be the photograph, but it looks like crap, sorry, I'm sure the yarn is beautiful, and the scarf itself is nice, but not together, they're fighting each other, not cohabitating nicely.
Posted by: misslunablu at May 14, 2006 1:07 PMMy likey. My scarves are not that fun, but I have to keep knitting them because it's getting really cold here!
Posted by: meredith at May 14, 2006 6:27 PMI started a small Kal for this scarf and we all found that although normal varigated yarns looked great, yarn with a very large varigation looked better. You can see some finished snake scarves at www.purlssnake.blogspot.com
Posted by: Donni at May 14, 2006 7:50 PMIt's um...very interesting. Not really my style but interesting nonetheless.
Posted by: Rebecca at May 17, 2006 6:10 PMSeems like I might be in the minority here, but I kind of like it. Looks very snakeskin to me, and I'd totally wear it.
Maybe it's just me.
