I'm back!!!

And a little jet lagged. Glad to see that K is knitting socks, and hopefully I'll see them at knitting tonight. Woohoo! Ok, here's my update.

1. I've gone an entire month without buying sock yarn. CRAZY! That gives me a gold star for the Sock Yarn Addicts Club.

2. Dye-O-Rama is in full swing! I've gotten my partner info, and I'm going to give you all a hint about who it is. The person I'm dyeing yarn for is someone who has posted to the blog before. Ooooooh. And I know EXACTLY what colorway I'm going to do. I'm going to try acid dyes for this project. Thanks to Scout, Monica and Noelle for taking care of it all!

3. I wasn't allowed to do any "work" knitting on vacation, meaning no knitting that required any sort of design decision whatsoever. That meant using a pattern from the library. It was a bit too hot and humid to knit except on the plane ride, so all I've got is part of the front from this lovely pattern:

Natasha Pullover

It's the cover sweater from Adrienne Vittadini's Fall 2003 pattern book. I'm using Rowan Kid Classic in Crushed Velvet which is a bit itchy because of the mohair content, but I figure I'll have to wear something underneath the sweater anyway. I probably will make a modification. The front and back are supposed to be exactly the same. I will either reverse the front for the back (so the diamond panel is on the left instead of right and the panels line up at the shoulders), or remove the lace panels entirely from the back. I'm just not sure about the lace panels on the back.

Yay for your gold star! My personal feeling about sweaters with designs on both sides: love it! Can't stand when a sweater has a design only on the front. But that's just me.

You realize that I have a need to find a copy of that sweater pattern now, don't you? I've emailed the store you linked to to see if they have it.

There are too many things to knit right now for distractions like these. Darn you.

Oops, I didn't bring my socks with me, so you probably won't see them today unless I stop at home before knitting.

And then what? What if I never see you again and you never see the socks?!?!?

I agree. Too uniform or too busy to duplicate the front and the back exactly. Welcome back.

Glad to have found your blog through Knitty--and just finished a pair with your Hedera pattern--bright green ones! And I have square toes too--pics on my blog. Thanks again!

I just found your blog and have enjoyed reading through it. What a beautiful sweater pattern. I do agree though that reversing the back or making it without the lace may look better.
Cheers!

Hi There, I agree with reversing the design on the back - just seems "Right" from a design standpoint. Also, a quick question. I'm working on your Pomatomus pattern, just started Chart B, Row 6 - had a total brain meltdown - long time since I've worked a chart - please tell me how do I read the blank squares - if at all? I checked Knitty and didn't see chart reading info. Thanks bunches!
