I'm sorry, did I forget to ever blog about these?
I knit these Jaywalkers for my soon-to-be-SIL for Christmas -- and finally sent them to her last week. It came down to the wire, then I finished them before we even got back from our trip. But did I sent them? No. This is very typical of me, so I think my friend D was rather surprised to get the Knitting Olympics gloves so soon after the Olympics and everything.
Anyway, these socks are, of course, the Jaywalker socks from Magknits. They are knit in Lorna's Laces in Tuscany. Cookie and I managed to order some Lorna's Laces where the colors are all off, so don't use these as a guide if you're thinking of buying Tuscany...
Progress reports: The Tess's sweater is down to the sleeves and edgings. I have 33 g of yarn left, so I still may make it. Now, if only I could find 2 or 3 more of my set of size 3 dpns ...
So I cast on the Bookworm sweater in the round, and it's moving along pretty quickly. Pictures soon.
Hey I'm sorry my Bloglines was screwy for you. Anyway! Glad to hear you are doing the Bookworm in the round--it will be worth it.
Posted by: Laura at March 13, 2006 5:26 AMthe colours of those sort of remind me of mixing modelling clay together when I was a kid. In a good way!
Posted by: alice at March 13, 2006 10:05 AMI have similar issues with sending off knitted gifts. I either send them immediately, or it takes me weeks and weeks. I still have to send a scarf to my father that I knit him for the holidays. I finished it at New Years, but never mailed it.
Posted by: Amanda at March 13, 2006 3:55 PMThey look nice!
I'm wishing I had knit the sand castle sweater in the round. Ah well, next time!
Posted by: Abigail at March 13, 2006 8:11 PMSocks! Woot! I might be teaching my SIL how to knit tomorrow, so she can make her own...
Posted by: Cookie at March 13, 2006 9:30 PMI'm totally like this about mail in general. I can buy the stuff to put in, get it all packed up, but somehow addressing and postage is where I stall out. That's probably why I have never joined the secret pal exchanges because I can't handle the pressure!
