Janice won!!!

Janice won the $750 raffle grand prize!!!!! When she stopped by, we thought she looked a little happier than usual to see us. Yay, Janice! I hope you found some good cashmere to spend that money on!

And more Stitches highlights:

Wendy Eidler from Unconfined Mind intervied Lew and Gene for an upcoming Men Who Knit DVD. When asked why he started to knit, Lew told the most touching story. When he was five, he had a stuffed rabbit that needed a scarf because it was cold. So Lew learned to knit for his little stuffed bunny. Awwwww. Kristi and I just about cried over that. Here he is showing off his tattoo:

Happy birthday, Gene! He turns 82. Here he is eating some cake:

Happy birthday, Gene!

Gene fondling his precious qiviut-merino-silk blend. He already balled up one of the hanks. All 800+ yards of laceweight.

Gene showed us a picture from his youth. He was quite the flexible young man:

Kristi attempts to mimic my "crazy" face:

The pomatomus (or was it the leg?) was a big hit. Lew took it for a walk:

Nathania from Commuknity recommended me as a sock designer to Blue Moon Fiber Arts. They're starting a sock club. Can I say that I would LOOOOOOOOVE to do this? Thanks, Nathania!

Wow! Congrats to Janice!

Congrats to you too. I hope they pick you, that would be awesome.

(Kristi's face isn't nearly as crazy as yours. ;)

We both recommended you at the same time. :)

Thanks! I did get some cashmere, but passed on the qiviut/merino. If I ever get to be as proficient as Gene, maybe I'll consider it. Best of luck to you with the Blue Moon Fiber Arts folks. I think that would be t'rrific.

These two gentlemen are such a doll! Touching story!
I didn't get any STR yarns as all the lightweight skeins were raided before I arrived! I guess I have to order online ...

If Kristi thinks that passes for crazy, she needs to come to work with me one day. HA! Hey, Pomatomus (but not you) is mentioned in the latest VK. In Amy Singer's column. But you probably already knew that.

ok, I had to google qiviut to figure out what on earth it was. You already are a fab sock designer...you're practically a celebrity amongst us.
