As I mentioned yesterday, I will be working on some Fair Isle gloves for the Knitting Olympics. D was in town a few weeks ago, and helped pick out colors, since my last attempt didn't turn out so well. After that failed attempt, I really wanted to swatch these colors out ahead of time. The last time, I had some strange cavalier attitude -- something about a swatch being almost as large as a glove ...
So ... please let me know what you think of these colors in these orders. Of particular importance is D's opinion, of course. I think I like how it looks, but I could be convinced to try the colors in a different order. The only other thing I was thinking was instead of the dark green in the top, maybe I would use the same dark brown from the lower panel. Any opinions out there?
I like the top panel better myself. The dark green balances a lot better than the brown, in my opinion.

In my head, I had green pictured for the main color and not brown/beige, but that's because I'd picture almost everything in green, if I could. And that's probably not true to fair isle coloring, anyway. So, whatever you want to do is good for me. I know that's not helpful. Top panel, then! Yaaaay!
Posted by: Dana at January 31, 2006 10:17 AMWait, is this is a top vs. bottom question? I like the color order of the bottom panel for that pattern. The top one I like, but I'd be interested in seeing what other color combo/orders would look like for comparison. I want to see what that medium brown looks like in person.
