C's wedding was absolutely lovely, as all of the pictures have attested, and we had such a great time, it's been hard to get back in to the swing of things. Making it even harder to get in the swing of things is the fact that my wrist has been hurting a lot, so I haven't knit in almost a week. It's so sad, and so difficult to do. And to further compound my lack of posting is the fact that what I was knitting pre-wedding/injury is a present for someone and I don't want to show it in progress.
The good news though! Just received more sock yarn, in case what I had wasn't enough ... and, I finally got a camera! Yay, so now C and I can update all of the time, and don't have to wait until we switch the camera back and forth. This is good, as I'm sure she can't handle another second (not another second!) with me!
No pics of the camera, but here are some pics of the yarn.
First up, the Lorna's Laces C and I just got. These are the colors I got, and C and I are sharing some Black Watch which is in her possession. Mine are (l-r) 2 skeins each of mineshaft, shadow, and tuscany.
Next we have the Patons Kroy I ordered when Herrschner's was having a sale. My only regret is that I didn't buy more! More! This will be great for Fair Isle glove projects:
The top row there are 2 of each color and the bottom row has one of each color since you don't necessarily need much for Fair Isle (or Latvian mittens).
Finally, one skein (100g) of Cherry Tree Hill Merino in Java. C and I have both been coveting this colorway, but somehow when we found one, and had 10% off because of our knitting meetup, she convinced ME to buy it.
Finally, for Laura -- the sock yarns I have that are single colors. Laura, let me know what you'd like a bit of, or if you want names and color explanations:
Oooooh, I still haven't seen the Paton's Kroy in person, but it looks AWESOME in that picture. What will you do with all of it it?! So much yarn!
And a sidenote for Laura if she reads these comments - the solid colors I have are pale green, light black, soft yellow, charcoal, and white/natural.
Posted by: c at May 20, 2005 5:21 PMOh my gosh! I loooooove that Mineshaft. I mean, not for the project I need sock yarn for. Just in general. haha. Well, let's see. I'm making animals, so any color that would approximate animal colors. (I have dark grey and navy) Black, light yellow, and the white/natural would all work. And teeeeny pieces of blue, red and green for eyes, beaks, etc. I appreciate your scraps! I'll send you something non-scrappy!
