Back from the dead

Or close to it. My computer died. I've been using J's computer which just isn't the same. Last week I was visiting my parents out in Illinois where the weather is crazy. It was 80 when I got there. And then I saw snow flurries the day before I left!

Luckily I made a trip out to Wool and Company in Geneva. Their selection is AMAZING. I got some Fleece Artist sock yarn and KPPPM.

I haven't been knitting as much as reading about knitting. I ordered a bunch of German / French / unknown (Scandinavian or Dutch) antique lace patterns that are awesome. K has them, so we'll have to put up some pics of those later.

The big news is that I am so very close to being done with the Madli stole. I made it wider and slightly longer than the pattern calls for. This is where it was a week ago. Right now I just have to do the end border. Whee!!!

Also, before going to visit my parents I made a mess out of the living room by piling silk everywhere. I started a patchwork blanket. Lots of ironing, measuring, cutting, and the tiniest bit of sewing have yielded this so far. The strips are each one inch wide. This should take a while...

Madli looks great. Glad to hear from you, we miss you!

I have to say that I'm insanely jealous that you have Fleece Artist sock yarn! I've looked for it everywhere in my local area and online using their directory and am having trouble finding it...can't wait to see what beauties you make from yours!

If they're Dutch, my husband or I (with a dictionary) could help you translate them.
