I love these socks...

...even if I checked my gauge to see if it would fit around my foot and it does. But now it doesn't quite fit around my ankle without a LOT of pulling in just the right way. Damn huge instep. But who cares? Look at them! I'm in love!!!

The left one is the front, and the right one is the back. I like the little line down the middle. I'm using the Siren's Heart Socks pattern from Norsk Strikkedesign with very different colors. I've already made three mistakes. There's a missing blue dot in that huge motif on the front. The back part that has yellow dots alternates grey and yellow every row, and I accidentally did two grey rows in a row once. Also, one of the blue stitches near the grey/yellow line should actually be grey. All the other stitches that look like they are grey but should be blue are actually blue. It's the variegation which is kind of funky, but I like it. If I make too many more mistakes, I may consider frogging, but I doubt I will.

Oh yes, the heel! I'm not going to follow the weird directions they have for a heel. Instead I'm trying a grey/yellow striped short row heel. Let's hope it works.

And that stole thing. I got needles and worked on it a bit over the weekend. I finished the border and one pattern repeat. I'm aiming at knitting a foot a week. That gives me plenty of time for the wedding. And it's going SO MUCH FASTER than the Unst Stole was going. Ah, blessed size 5 needles. So big!

Heehee, like my use of feet in the second picture? I was trying to stretch it out to give an idea of what it really looks like. The first picture just looks like jumbled mess.

Oh my god, if you THINK about frogging that I'll have to scream. It looks great! Do you have to strand super-loose on socks? The store bought fair isle socks I have are always too tight to get on because of the strands. We'll pretend that's the reason I haven't made any fair isle socks. haha! Excellent use of feet, by the way.
