Future Plans

After perusing the aisles of Stitches last month, I decided it is time for me to try some fair isle (or other color) knitting. I bought the book Fair Isle Mittens and Gloves by Carol Rasmussen Noble.

I'm ready to start. You know, except for not having any appropriate yarn and not really knowing what I'm doing. I'm not going to let that second part stop me.

I think I'm going to buy a bunch of Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport Weight for my first project. Anyone out there love it or hate it? I haven't felt it yet, so I don't know how soft it is or anything. I want to buy a lot of colors so I can play around with colors on these projects.

Meanwhile, I really should be working on the stole non-stop at this point, though it's about half done now. Pictures to come when next I go to C's place to take some photos ...

While I should be working on the stole, I went to SnB last night in Redwood City, so ... I finished my first blueberry hill sock and am on to the second one. I even wove in the ends on the first one already! Woo-hoo!

Hey there,
That isn't the greatest book for beginners because she doesn't talk much about technique. Don't get frustrated if you have some problems with tension at first. I like her color choices, though.

Hrrrmmmm. When C said she moved, I didn't catch the part about you both being in the same city now. How did I miss that? Anyway, COOL! The projects on the cover of that book look awesome. Can't wait to see what you pick! Some blog I just read mentioned the BS sport weight...let me go look. Dang, can't find it. But here's another one. http://goddess1.typepad.com/i_hide_yarn/2005/02/a_sock_a_prize_.html Okay, hope that helps.
