Wow, February was a bad month for the blog. But now K has DSL!!!!
I haven't been doing too much knitting, but I did manage to pick a project for the Green-along and somewhat stick to it. Here are my future favorite socks:
I'm in the home stretch of the second sock. Yay! I'm using KnitPicks Color Your Own sock yarn which is 100% merino and wonderfully soft. At first I was afraid that the yarn was too thin (I was used to working with Cherry Tree Hill supersock which is a bit meatier), but it's not. It's actually very wonderfully soft. I'll have to see how they wear once I'm done. The yarn looks a little bluish in the picture, but it's actually predominantly various shades of green with flecks of yellow and a little purple thrown in.
The pattern is something I'm making up using a twisted rib pattern from one of the Barbara Walker Treasuries. I like that the pattern is really easy to keep track of, so there is absolutely no row counting.
Also coming up:
- Books, books and more books (I've been reading about knitting more than actually knitting)
- Socks, socks and more socks (This is only the first installment of several socks on the needles)
- Stitches West buying extravaganza recap
Oh yes, and my stole. After great analysis last night, I have decided that it would be easier and less stressful to begin a new stole on larger needles rather than trying to finish the Unst Stole. So as soon as I can get my hands on some size 5 circs, I will cast on for Madli from IK Summer 2004. This pains me greatly, but the Unst Stole is too tragic to continue.
