The movers came with our stuff, so I've been busy unpacking and such. The stole is now sitting in a closet all sad and lonely. I *will* get back to it, just not quite yet. I managed to pick up a quarter of the stitches before the movers came, and it's definitely doable. I just need a break. And oh what a break it's been. Here's some knitting:
That's right, I'm going to make two socks that look *exactly* the same with the same yarn and everything. I'm going to join the sock "pair" craze instead of making lonely single socks. Crazy, I know. This yarn is awesome. It's Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in Fall Foliage that I got from my Secret Pal.
Also, this is a cardi I'm working on. I'm going to pick up stitches at the sleeves and knit a ribbed cuf that matches the front section. It's wonderfully fuzzy Noro Kochoran.
Of course there have been some failures in the meantime. I picked up some Jaeger Trinity in my stash and started knitting in the round. After a few inches I realized I had twisted it! A mistake I have never made before. Sigh. So I ended up ripping it out and putting it away. That idea can wait.
Oh yeah, and Hudson is almost done! I just need to block it and find put in a zipper. I've already seamed and woven in ends and everything. In fact, I've worn it a few times. Heehee. The hood is bit pointy as you can see from this anonymous side view picture:
Both of those sweaters are great. Noros colors are so gorgeous. I didn't realize that the Hudson sweater had hand warmers when I saw it on you at the Stitch n Bitch. Where did the pattern come from?
(It was nice meeting you, by the way. :)

Posted by: monica at February 2, 2005 9:20 PMLove that striped ribbed caridigan. Such a cool idea using the yarn to make vertical (more flattering(!) stripes!
Posted by: sally at February 2, 2005 10:39 PMDang! You are pushing the envelope with your crazy ideas of sock pairs! What will be next? Sleeves the same length? Or hat and scarf sets, of all things? hee hee The sweaters look great, but GET BACK TO WORK ON THAT STOLE!!
Posted by: Laura at February 4, 2005 5:48 PMHey, is that the Lara cardigan? I just finished mine in Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed. I'm going to post a picture of me modelling it soon. Like, any day now. :)
Posted by: Gail at February 7, 2005 3:35 PMI love your ribbed cardi. Are you designing it yourself or is there a pattern you could direct me to?
Posted by: Marlene at February 18, 2005 5:53 PMThe Kochoran sweater is lovely. Very neat how the vertical stripes work with the ribbing!
