To keep me sane while I'm knitting the stole (and for something to knit at stitch 'n' bitch, where I can't do something so intricate), I started the Whitby sock from Nancy Bush's knitting on the road.
I was inspired by Larissa, I decided to go ahead and use a variegated yarn. I'm using Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in the Champlain Sunset colorway. C and I have differing viewpoints on this colorway. I think the colors look better knit up, and she thinks they look better on the hank. I think I was just glad not to have any flashing/pooling/general badness associated with my variegated yarn. I'm a little farther now than this picture shows, but this gives you sort of an idea of the colors and maybe you can see the cable and diamond pattern (if you click on the pic):
Yes, the sock is in my arm. It seemed like a fun way to take the pic. I'll try to get a better pic of it for my FO photo.
I should really get back to my stole, but now I'm hooked on this sock. Whoops. Must get back to stole.
You have to have something to keep you sane! I like the colorway (I've considered it before) and no pooling is a plus.

Also.. hi there - long time no see @ SnB! I've been completely faithless in my attenance the last 3 months. But I'll be there the 23rd.
