I am officially on a yarn diet. I will not buy anymore yarn until I complete at least THREE projects. I don't care how cheap it is. I don't care how nice it feels. I don't care if there's a kit that comes with a book that I've been really wanting. I don't care if it's the softest cashmere ever for $10 a pound.
NO MORE YARN.
I was really good and didn't buy any yarn over the weekend, but that's because I knew I had stuff coming in the mail. And guess what, it all arrived at the same time. The kid mohair. Some Noro yarn. Some more Noro yarn. Even more Noro yarn. Yeah, I spent a lot of time talking to delivery people yesterday.
But hey, even in all my ridiculous yarn ordering, J may have been even more absurd. You see, our water tastes *really* funny, and I didn't really mind it all that much until I came back from all our travelling to SF and Toronto. After drinking decent water for a few weeks, coming back to our water was completely nasty. So... J has decided to order water from Hinckley, so we're going to have one of those office water bottle dispensers. Heehee. That's on top of getting our groceries delievered by Peapod. Damn, we're lazy.
And no, no pictures of yarn will be shown until I have significant knitting progress done. Seeing pictures of my yarn online only makes me feel more like the yarn whore that I am.
Ok, I'm already adding an exception. The order I was going to place for recycled silk sari yarn for some members of the Stitch n Bitch group may proceed. I need enough to finish my project. Also, these three projects have to be sweaters that use up a lot of yarn, not wimpy projects. One has to be the recycled silk sari jacket. Maybe the aran sweater will be another. They don't have to be intricate, just big. J might be getting a sweater out of this. Dare I risk the love sweater curse?
I've never officially said I'm on a yarn diet, but I'm acting that way. The only yarn I've bought recently was for my SP. However, I have been buying pattern books and needles like there's no tomorrow. Haha! I didn't say I was on a supplies diet. And perhaps if you make J a sweater for purely stash-reduction reasons, the curse may not apply. :)
