Toronto and tidbits

J and I are going to Toronto tonight until Sunday. We're gonna see a lot of his fam and friends I've never met before, so this should be entertaining. I'm also hoping to get some knitstuff in, but we'll see. I found out from Stephanie at Yarn Harlot that there is a knitting group tonight, but it's probably at the same time as our flight. Drat!

Yesterday, I met up with Lynette and Monica from Passionknit. These guys are great! I had a lot of fun and scored a couple knitting books from their stash sale. They are very much more in tune with the online blogging world than I am. It was great. I love the online knitting world. And, btw, Lynette's Carla is looking gorgeous.

As for knitting progress, I started a heavily modified version of the Aran Sweater from Norsk Strikkedesign. I'm making it tighter fitting and with set in sleeves instead of drop shoulders. I've just gotten past the lattice cabling at the bottom. Here is a bad picture.

I've decided to hold off on finishing the Wavy Ribbon Tank and the Lana D'oro Sweater for when I want some instant gratification. It's way too warm for the sweater anyway. Oh, and I decided to just make it into a pullover instead of a hoodie or cardigan. I think that shows off the colorwork best. So all I have left for both of those is seaming and weaving in ends.

Non-knitting news: I got my haircut yesterday! I also have an appointment for hair coloring next Tuesday, so I'll take pictures then. They sort of looked at my home done coloring job and tried to be nice about how bad it was, but oh they hooked me up with a FOUR HOUR appointment next week to spice it up. I wonder if I can knit while they color, or is that asking for trouble?

Oh no, No C for soooo long! Wah! Anyway, that aran looks really cool. I really need to start taking some cabling projects and whatnot. I can't wait to see your haircut!

Boy, you've knitted up a lot of the Aran Sweater since I saw it yesterday. Any time you'd like to join us would be great!

It was great meeting you too. Your sweater looks good. You've made a lot of progress. I forgot to tell you that your T-shirt was very cool.

Did you find cool shoes at Nordstrom's?

Definitely take knitting with you to your coloring appt. Just don't take anything that you care about. Making something black, so if anything gets on it, it won't show.
