I am loving this sweater. I was up the armholes on the body and done with one sleeve when I left for NYC. I got back with another arm done to the armhole. It's completely plain and boring up to that point, and the entire time I've been knitting I've been wondering what I should do to spice up the yoke.
Well.... I raided my stash and found a ball of Adrienne Vittadini Natasha yarn in a light green and another ball of Karabella Aurora 8 in a different light green. I was thinking of returning these, but now I have a use for them. Take a look:
That's the back. The front is going to be split neck. I love the Natasha yarn, but I couldn't possibly afford to make a whole sweater with it, so this is my compromise.
Also, I made a horrible mistake while at Tuesday's Stitch n Bitch, so I ripped back a few rows. I left having less done than when I arrived! Then I decided I might as well try the whole weaving technique. I think it's working okay, but I don't know if I'm doing it correctly. I sort of made up my technique which is really slow because my right hand just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. I'll have to take a picture of the wrong side when I have more done to see if anyone can comment on this.
In other news, we got our shipment of Ikea furniture, so now I should have lots of space to organize stuff including yarn. Yippee!!! We also got our first Peapod grocery delivery. Very convenient for not having to lug tons of soda across the street, through two very annoying gates and up some stairs. This is all good, but it means I'm going to spend most of today reorganizing. I fear assembling the wardrobe we bought.
That looks like one comfy sweater. I have no idea what weaving is, what do you mean? I wish Peapod delivered liquor, 'cause I'd love a margarita right now, but I'm too lazy to go out. Heck we don't even have Peapod service anywhere near where I live. Alas, 'tis the lazy person's diet. he he
Posted by: Laura at September 16, 2004 6:33 PMWeaving is a way to do two colored knitting without having floats on the wrong side, so there's less fear of snagging a float. I think it's much more annoying than regular two colored knitting because you actually do have to knit two handed, and my right hand doesn't want to cooperate. With normal two colored knitting, I just use a yarn strander in my left hand.
Peapod does deliver liquor, but we're already stocked up on it. Mmmm, liquor.
