Overcommitted?

So yesterday, after the whole free CD of my choice incident, I didn't think things could get better. I was wrong. My mom looked through my Spring issue of Interweave Knits and decided she really liked the crocheted wavy ribbon tank. I told her I liked it too, but the yarn was expensive, so I wasn't going to make it. She decided she wanted to make it for me, but she doesn't remember how to read crochet directions, so... she asked me "What if I buy you the yarn, and you make it?"

My mother obviously does not understand the extent of my addiction. This conversation was held about 20 minutes after I returned from Stitches Midwest and had just bought 4 bags and 2 (small) cones of yarn. I've signed up for the Carla-along and three Meathead hats in response to the plea for knitters. I just started a sweater yesterday. I'm up to the armholes on another one. I have unfinished bags. A scarf. A LOT OF YARN. My name is recognized by yarn vendors, ferchrissake. I've agreed to teach my friend Angee how to knit. I'm going to SF to hang out with K for a week during which I'm sure we will KNIT KNIT KNIT. I'm seriously contemplating stopping by at Habu when I visit my brother next month. Maybe I have a problem, and my mother should not be encouraging me.

But the wavy tank is gorgeous. I looked at her and calmly asked "Are you sure?" I could barely contain my excitement. It's made with Colinette yarn, stuff I like to look at and covet but never thought I would actually use until one of those days in the far away future when I have a real job or any job at all.

She said "Sure. Order it, and I'll give you money." I immediately went to Ebay and looked up sellers. I compared prices including shipping and concluded this was the way to go. When I get back from SF, I will hopefully have three skeins of Colinette Giotto in Popsicle waiting for me. I am giddy.

Onto the pictures.

Drooling! I've really been wanting to get It's a Tape Thing, but I've never seen it in person to be able to flip through everything. Do you think it's worth it? What is the Adhoc Piu like? What kind of fiber is it?

The Adhoc Piu is 70% acrylic 30% wool. As for It's a Tape Thing, several things. A lot of the patterns are crocheted or involve crocheting which I did not realize until after I bought it. I was looking at the pictures, not the instructions! I really like the patterns, but then there's the problem of whether or not these will actually look good on me... The jury's still out on that one.
