I finally almost finished it! I still haven't decided if I should sew up the bottom or let it roll up. I haven't woven in the ends. But I did put the ribbon in to hold it on to my body so I could take a picture. And, as predicted, it makes me look a little ... less than covered up. Take a look for yourself:
It's incredibly comfortable, and I think the shaping turned out well. I really like the Valley Cotton.
I started swatching the Schachenmayr Aurora that I have a bunch of, just to see what I think I might be able to do ... it turns out that I have 8 balls despite my thought that I only had 6, so I might actually be able to make a shirt out of it. You'll note that that wasn't really one of the things on my list of things to start next. Oh well.
The Thelma-esque top looks great! How does the Valley cotton feel after washing? Is there any shrinkage? Is it machine washable?
Posted by: c at August 5, 2004 10:45 AMIt doesn't shrink much. It feels good, about the same as it felt before. I've washed my swatches and put them through the dryer, and they were fine, but I probably won't put the top through the dryer.
