A pattern!

I found the camera recharger and a nice empty disk, so here is a better pic of the diagonal halter top.

I have also made my first attempt at posting a pattern here. This area of the website is still a work in progress, and a very slow one at that. Sorry! But if anybody has any advice with respect to the pattern, I would love to hear it.

As for my fiber update, I tried dyeing variegated yarn using the good old stove top method. It was supposed to be a combination of very dark brown, green, and blue. Some of the brown turned out much redder than I expected, but at least it's not a pile of brown slush! I'm actually very happy with it.

Also, I started knitting my first glove! I decided the yarn was too thick for socks, but gloves would be okay. I've got the pinky and part of the ring finger done on the right glove. My fingernails are quite gross from the yarn dyeing today (I forgot to wear rubber gloves).

Oh, and I learned something new today! I learned the Norwegian purl method (where you purl with the yarn in back). I'm not sure what I think of it yet. I need more practice, but it's kind of neat. I read about it in the spring issue of Interweave Knits. I also saw an online video of it once, but I coudn't figure out what the heck was going on from it.

You go with the gloves! they look like they fit perfectly! haha, they fit like a glove! christ, that was lame. I have only done mittens because even if you mess up the thumb, it's just a thumb. Speaking of which, have you seen the Thumb movies? Thumbtanic, The Godthumb, Batthumb, Thumb Wars? love those...
