I wanted to share the pillow that I made a couple of weeks ago. The front stripey fabric is part of the stash that my friend H got for me. She gives me some discontinued fabrics from interior design stores. This one happened to be big enough for a 20" pillow, but not quite big enough to leave the symmetrical stripes there. Oh well.
I made the piping for the edges myself so that it could be all cotton, and also so that it would be a dark enough creamy color to go with the front of the pillow. The back is some 100% cotton fabric I got at JoAnn's.
My next sewing project is probably going to be a seat for this storage unit/bench that we got from Ikea. I bought this paisley fabric for it, but still haven't decided exactly what design I want. How do I want to secure it? Do I want piping? How thick do I want it? All of these decisions. Anyway, here's a pic of the storage unit and fabric, and a close-up of the fabric.
I'm open to suggestions!
I like how the pillow is asymmetrical. Some might call it stylish, possibly in a pomo sort of way. As for your bench, you could try some foam padding from Joann's? I think an inch or two would be nice, but not more or less. Nice fabric!
