Home to San Francisco

So I made the trip to SF this weekend, and it was fabulous! Well, okay, so the weather here was actually the same as there for the weekend, but nevermind that. It was good to be back "home". I even cleaned the bathroom. Hm.

I went to the bookstore and looked at knitting books and think I lost out when buying Vogue's Ultimate Guide to Knitting. The Reader's Digest book is much more comprehensive from what I could tell. The sections on color knitting and circular knitting (which I found lacking in Vogue) were much better. They offer good tips for common problems and errors and give lots of advice (not that you'll always use all of it, but better to have it than not). I even learned about a strander which is a device you can buy that I had preconceived of and wanted to make for myself.

So I immediately had to get a strander, of course! I did, and it makes knitting with two colors MUCH easier than the two handed technique, BUT I feel like I'm cheating. I'm almost tempted to go back to the two handed technique for the joy of the extra pain.

Yep, so then I saw K and A Sunday night, and we had a fine evening. I ate at Ben and Jerry's for the second time that day. Mmmm. Then a stop at the new Apple store brought covetous looks at the cute little Ipods. I actually like design of the 40G one better than the itty bitty ones. I think I wasn't supposed to talk about knitting, but I couldn't control my obsession. And now I'm even more excited to do more knitting over spring break!!!
