So I'll be tracking knitting and DDR stuff here. And probably throw in some random stuff too.
DDR accomplishment of the day: I passed Xenon! That leaves me with three unpassed songs in heavy on DDRMax2: Afronova, So Deep, and Max Unlimited. Hm.
Here's a picture of the old DDR setup I left behind in California. (Note the combo J is getting) :-( Now I've got RedOctane Ignition pads though! Not as good as the CF pads, but ah well, at least I get to play on non-crap pads.
So, knitting progress (apologies for bad pictures taken with Treo):
Before going to California over winter break, I made my first hat ever: a blue fuzzy hat from some green yarn I found at a thrift store (probably acrylic) double stranded with ONLine Linie 43 Punta. It was done using size 10.5 circular and double pointed needles.
I made my second hat from Manos del Uruguay handspun wool in reds that I got from a yarn store that had everything 50% off. The hat is a very simple square shape that has two balls hanging from the top corners. Ribbed fold up rim, stockinette stitch, size 10.5 circular needles.
In California, I made E a pretty red scarf out of some Light and Lofty yarn and size 15 needles using the garter stitch (I was pressed for time), but have no picture. I also made myself a very very very easy scarf in stockinette (hey, I like the curling) using Red Heart Craft Yarn in Candy on the same size 15 needles. Finished Jan 3.
Since getting back, I've been knitting up a storm. I knit myself a luscious red scarf from Classic Elite La Gran mohair double stranded with some unidentified yarn (probably mercerized cotton possibly a linen blend) using the seed stitch on size 15 needles. This is a scarf I was knitting for my mom ages ago until she saw it and said it was too scratchy, so I stopped (the yarn was also hopelessly tangled at that point because I didn't roll the hank into a ball, oh god, what a mess). I also realized that way back when, I didn't know how to knit properly and had been doing knit through back the entire time, so I frogged (undid, for those not in the know with knitting terminology, I just recently learned this term) the whole thing (mohair no less!) and started over. Finished on Jan 14.
I also finished a hat I had been making for someone with an itty bitty head. This is 3x3 ribbed and made from Noro Kureyon yarn. Size 6 circular and dp needles, finished Jan 16.
Here's a yellow fuzzy hat I made using Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride and Gedifra Tecno Hair. Ribbed at the bottom, stockinette on top, size 10.5 circular and dp needles, finished Jan 18.
I made my mom a hat as a late Xmas present using Lion Brand Homespun in a lavender color. Seed stitch, size 10.5 circular and dp needles, finished Jan 18.
I finally finished my own matching Noro hat, except this one is bigger because I do not have an itty bitty head. The best picture for color is the one I took while it was a work in progress. It's made from Silk Garden (oooh, much nicer than Kureyon), size 6 circular and dp needles, 3x3 ribbed, finished Jan 23.
I also made my dad a hat as a late Xmas present, but I have no picture of it. It's 2x2 ribbed using Manos del Uraguay handspun wool in greens, size 10.5 circular and dp needles, finished Jan 24.
Other works in progress include a purse I'm making for my mom to match her hat. It's made from "ribbon yarn" that I made by tearing some pretty cloth into strips. I'm also trying to make a sleeveless sweater completely on circular needles. (Size 15 for ease and quickness!). I've already had to redo parts of it several times... I like experimenting over using patterns.
And some random pictures. The first is Schmoop (J) driving on the way back from our disastrous yet wonderful trip to San Diego. The other two are me being silly.
