I've long felt like I should pick up a martial art, and all this time I have been. Who knew?

Me too! Well, I did all heavies today, though I only tried a few 8-footers. I passed a couple and totally died on a couple others (V for Extreme, TwinBee).

I think it's true, things are easier on stepmania, because some of these songs seem harder than they did last weekend. I wonder if it has to do with framerate?

I was there. Not anymore since about 6 years. The solution is a simple word: Discipline:
1. wake up at 7am and RUN in the morning(3 miles everyday is more than enough, about 20-25 minutes) you will feel energized and alert all day.
2. Eat smart. Go Vegetarian, or at least avoid any red/processed meats. You won't believe the difference.
3. Work only 8 hours a day: 9-5 period! due to #1 and #2 , #3 is easy.
4. go to sleep no later than 11pm. it will take you to #1 fairly easy.
To accomplish these four simple steps you only need Discipline. If you follow these steps for one month I can assure you it will be easy from then on.

Yeah, but the abuse your body takes from the marathon is much greater than that from yoga.
Anyway, you pretty much know about me... a bunch of yoga, some hanging out, and, uhh... oh, you said sane. Nevermind, then.

Yeah, the Gorillaz song is great, definitely. Dude, their website is insane though! Wow. Thanks for the quick diversion! :)

I love the soundtrack to Samurai Champloo, it really is inspired. Very cool.

Well, for PS2 there are three - DDR Max, DDR Max 2, DDR Extreme. As for never leaving home, I suppose I will leave home to get food sometimes - there's only so much delivery one can take. I bought the doubles set - 2 pads + doubles bar.

How many domestic PS2 DDR's are there? Does this mean you're never leaving home again? Also, did you get one Flux or two???

Well, in theory, my work and play spaces will be better separated. In practice...we'll see.

The biggest problem with the old set-up is that everything was being fed into my LCD monitor, making it quite easy to turn on the Tivo or play games in the middle of the work day without moving one inch.

I guess worse comes to worse, I'll at least have fancy HD to kill time while being unemployed.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm already ahead of you - I picked up "Mordant's Need" a few years back. I think the only Donaldson I haven't read is some of the "The Man Who..." series and what I just picked up.

I'll have to check out the John Varley collection you mentioned.

I highly recommend the "Mordant's Need" series from Donaldson -- intimidatingly thick, but nowhere near as densely written as the Covenant books. If you want some SF-type short stories, a John Varley short story collection was just released in trade paperback, and I'd urge you to check it out.
