Early Morning Madness

Probably the worst thing about actually getting in to work early when there's no reason to is the fact that it's that many more hours before lunch. Normally, you have a set of rituals that will take you up to a reasonably later moment in the morning. By that point, it's not that bad a stretch until lunch, with or without stimulants.

Right now, I can feel the boredom seeping in even though I have plenty of work.

Regardless of how nice leaving at 3:30 or so is, I think I'm going to stick with coming in at 9. Life is so much simpler that way.

The solution is to eat lunch at 10 AM.

Haha... awesome. Seriously though, just go eat man. What're they going to do, fire you? Hmmm, that reasoning doesn't work as well with real jobs.

Might be a case for bringing in a light (first) lunch with you. Sandwich, banana, etc...

I think it has less to do with the eating, and more to do with the getting out of the place. Plus, finding company to escape at 10 am is a little hard.

2-3 pm, however, is a different matter.

For me, the problem is the time after lunch. Lunch is a major momentum killer so I like to have as little time as possible after lunch. If I got in at 9 and had lunch at 11, I would still have 5 or 6 more hours to work after lunch. By getting in at 7, there are only 3 hours left by the time lunch is over.
