Mona, Flicker

A couple more sock patterns. First up we have Mona, knit by Jamie. I knew Jamie would make a good sample knitter because she is picky picky picky. What's interesting about this sock is that I messed up the chart that I sent Jamie. Those stockinette circle areas? They were supposed to be more textured. But I really like the way they turned out anyway. I originally named it the Hourglass Sock because it looked more hourglass-like, but now it doesn't. So I named it Mona after Jamie's poor lost dog.

Next up, Kristi's been knitting on this (in case you were wondering where she went). It is a Flicker sock. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

The market place preview is tonight. If you'll be there, please stop by and say hello! We're in booth 732, next to Purlescence and across the aisle from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. I might be a little sleep deprived (look at the time!), so if I seem a bit dazed you'll know it's me not you.

If there weren't thousands of miles between us, I would be there to bring you tea or coffee to keep you awake... ;-)

Oh, and please remember to write your book fast!

I'm de-lurking.

Cookie, I really hope that you publish your patterns in a book or make them avaiable to those of us who live far far away some other way. Your patterns are lovely and they look like they would be so much fun to knit.

cheers,
danielle

Your patterns are all so amazing. Really! You need to put out a book. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I'd buy it in a heartbeat. As it is, I'll be watching for you to make these patterns available for those of who can't get to Stitches West. I can't wait!

Cookie,
You just to publish a book with your patterns. The demand is certainly there. Your patterns are so gorgeous you have us all drooling over them. They are so beautiful I'm sure they would even inspire many who have never knit socks before to become sock knitters. Non knitters might even buy it just to look at your marvelous creations. Your talent is amazing.

Just adding my name to the long, long list of people who hope your sock patterns will be made available one way or another. I was stalled out on sock knitting until I saw your Pomatamous socks, and as soon as I finished those I immediately cast on for your Monkey socks. (Those are almost done...time to find another one of your patterns!!)

Posted by: Michelle at February 22, 2007 6:55 AM

Those socks (as always) are beautiful! Good luck at Stiches-- I'm sure you'll do really well.

Posted by: Kristy at February 22, 2007 6:59 AM

Cookie, I'm amazed at your unending stream of creativity! Simply astounding. I'm with the others, a book is in order, or at least make the patterns available to us on your site.

Posted by: Leslie at February 22, 2007 7:57 AM

I have never wanted to go to Stitches as much as this time around just because you are showing the socks there! Alas, no trip for me. Good luck at the show!

Posted by: May at February 22, 2007 8:37 AM

Nice! I can't wait to see your yarn in person at Stitches!

Posted by: Romi at February 22, 2007 9:22 AM

Oh my... These new pairs are gorgeous too! So many beautiful patterns to choose from! I can't wait to stop by tomorrow and see all of these in person!

Posted by: Marisol at February 22, 2007 10:18 AM

Oh my gosh you must stop with these incredible patterns and beautiful yarn or I will be forced to spend my entire weekend driving to and from Stitches!

Also I have to say, I have 2 books of sock patterns and thought I might need one more, but figured that would be enough to last a lifetime. Your patterns are not only incredible, but also distinctly different from everything else out there.

It's not fair that you should tease us so much. Please tell us when to expect all these fabulous sock patterns, pretty please? :)

My cheque book is open and ready! :D

Your socks are amazing! Would love to see you publish them so the rest of us can knit them. I have a huge stash of sock yarn that's just begging for these fabulous patterns.

Good luck at Stitches.

Once again, two more to my list I would totally knit. You've got to put out a book with all these patterns. We'd all buy one and you could retire to a lovely beach and knit the day away. :)
Good Luck at Stitches.....Wished I could be there.

I just have to add my voice to the masses and say...

I feel a little late tuning in - I just finished my first Monkey sock and wandered over - OMG - I have to get your patterns as well once they come to fruition - freaking amazing! :)

Posted by: Stacey at February 24, 2007 11:10 AM

Have a great time at Stitches. Sell lots of stuff. Talk to many knitters. Stay up too late. It's all part of the experience!

Posted by: Sheila at February 24, 2007 8:13 PM

Came to the show on Saturday and bought your package of all the sock patterns and some yarn. Am so excited to knit them all, and it was lovely to meet you! Woot!

Also -- I'm curious -- you said that you were going to do a texture in the circles for Mona... what were you going to do? I love it the way it is, but it'd be interesting to have a "variation" for a second pair. Do tell!

Posted by: Margo at February 25, 2007 11:33 PM

At the risk of sounding redundant, It would make my day - week - month - to have the opportunity to buy some patterns, most especially the twisted flower sock (swoon swoon swoon).

As I live all the way in PA, I've been randomly refreshing the blog all day in the hopes a store of some sort will pop up...but figure you're super tired after a (undoubtedly successful) weekend!

Posted by: kate at February 26, 2007 11:16 AM

I came by at SW, but you had run out of some of your patterns....I hope you do decide to offer them for a bit, since I didn't get my hands on them.

ps....just a suggestion, maybe Purlescence can carry them?

Posted by: Maribel at February 26, 2007 1:09 PM

I'm delurking too - I love your patterns and these new ones are insanely gorgeous. I'm desperately hoping, along with the others that there is someway we can buy these patterns. Wish you much success at Stitches. Pamela

Cookie, you really need to write a book. I know I've said it before, but your patterns are brilliant. I'm glad Stitches went so well. I only wish I could have been there. Please come out to Rhinebeck in the fall so all of the East Coast knitters get a chance to meet you and indulge in your goodies.
