I guess it's nice to be surprised by what day it is (and to have that day be Friday). With Thursday night being BobaKnit night, I'm often in a rush to get the Friday post in with pictures of yarn before I leave for work on Fridays. This is my way of telling you this post will be quick!
I stopped by Stash in Berkeley yesterday to pick up some more yarn for Cookie, and look what jumped right in my hand! This is the Colinette Jitterbug in Sahara.
Want more? You got it! (Don't want more? Too bad!)
By the way, the Colinette Jitterbug is a 3 ply and the yardage is not as good as many other sock yarns (367 m in 100 g). At some point soon I promise to do a post that compares the sock yarns I have.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I have been spinning!
The Sheep 2 Shoe kit from Blue Moon is coming right along.
I love the Colientte, great photos. I almost bought a skein of that a couple weeks ago. Darn! I knew I should have bought it.
Posted by: Shannon at January 26, 2007 9:25 AMI love my Jitterbug yarn, yardage be damned! I loved it so much I even bought a skein for my knitting partner in crime for Christmas. Mmm Jitterbug.
Posted by: Teenuh at January 26, 2007 9:28 AMlove love love the color of that jitterbug. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Posted by: Bobbi at January 26, 2007 9:38 AMThe Sahara is a gorgeous colorway -- and I wish I could get over to the East Bay more often to visit Stash, it's such a cute store. Great spinning, too -- I have got to get one of those sheep 2 shoe kits soon!
Posted by: Sarah at January 26, 2007 9:39 AMI receieved the very same yarn as a christmas gift. It's making beautiful socks (though I'm doing boring-ol stockinnete so I can enjoy the colors more). I'm excited to see what you will make with it.
Posted by: Larissa at January 26, 2007 10:45 AMLove that color of Jitterbug and your photos, too! I hope Colinette is reading the feedback about low yardage and picks it up a bit. Have a great weekend.
Posted by: Leslie at January 26, 2007 10:45 AMThe Jitterbug bit me too! I just knitted up some fingerless mitts in the Castagna colorway, and I'm trying very hardly to not go buy more. This post isn't really helping though, that colourway is gorgeous.

Ooh, I love that colorway. It's very autumn. You can't go wrong with a yarn called Jitterbug!
Posted by: jupiterjessica at January 26, 2007 2:26 PMOooh! Nice color of that Jitterbug. Yes, that wd be really nice to read your comparisons - not sure (w. my big feet) about the ydage for jitterbug. And you know what? Happens to me too, I'm in a yarn store and the yarn just jumps in my hands! :) Lovely Friday show here.
Posted by: Terry at January 26, 2007 3:51 PMGreat yarn! The color your spinning looks a little like Lucy. Very nice!
Posted by: Carol at January 27, 2007 11:58 AMI did it! I took my first spinning classes this weekend! It's fantastic, I love LOVE love it.
Now I really need to pick up that Lucy Sheep to Shoe kit...how much are those? *grins*
Posted by: shadkitty at January 27, 2007 7:06 PMHey, I just started a pair of socks in the Sahara last weekend. If you want to take a look at how it knits up (think autumm camo!), I have a shot of the work in progress in my last blog entry.
more beautiful yarn! I love those colors - very me....the new spinning is looking great too - I can only imagine how they will knit up!
Posted by: stacey at January 29, 2007 11:17 AMI knit a twinset from Tagliatelli in the Sahara colorway. Mmmmm, what a joy to wear it. It was great to knit!
Posted by: Jo at January 29, 2007 9:07 PMStill trying to catch up on my Bloglines, but I just had to comment on the Jitterbug. I bought that same yarn in that same colorway while in Virginia Beach, and sent it in a "Thank you" package to my SP9 Spoiler. I am glad to see that I am not the only one who liked those colors!
