I love holidays, and not just because it's a day off from work. Thanksgiving has been good this year, because my parents flew out for the weekend. That meant I got to bring my mom to the Purlescence sale this morning at 7, and "talk her into" buying some yarn. She got some Cascade 220 to make a felted bag and maybe a hat/scarf combo too. I may have purchased some Lorna's Laces.
Speaking of Lorna's Laces:
Another reason to love holidays. Time to knit! I finished up this camo sock yesterday morning because I did most of my food prep the night before (it's the caterer in me). Man, do I love the comfiness of the Lorna's Laces sock yarn.
I've also been working on this, but I'm going to tease you with it for now. It's knit in the Shelridge Farm worsted weight in a nice "wedgewood" blue. It looks kind of gray in this pic, but this is pretty strong sunlight:
And, since it is Friday, time for some yarn. I mentioned sparing you from more pics of my handspun from the Sheep 2 Shoe kit. I lied:
Your sheep 2 shoe yarn is absolutely stunning! It's going to make an awesome pair of socks.
Posted by: mote at November 24, 2006 12:06 PMThe S2S yarn looks incredible, you did a great job. Can't wait to see the socks.
Posted by: Sarah at November 24, 2006 12:06 PMPretty Yarn!
I was at Purlescence at 6:15AM and the place was already packed!
Posted by: cpurl17 at November 24, 2006 2:13 PMGorgeous yarn! And love the camo sock. My girl loves camo. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
Posted by: Carol at November 24, 2006 3:18 PMPlease don't spare us from pictures like that. The colors...ahhhh. Who needs another slice of pie, I just want to fondle that yarn! Okay, maybe while eating more pie. ;)
Posted by: Valerie at November 24, 2006 3:24 PMOh, that jumbo sale of 25% kills me… I want to buy yarn; it is an addiction I guess since I buy at a higher rate than knit.
Love your LL sock, which colour is it? I’ve got 2 skews in Daffodil colour to knit your Pomatomus socks.
I love the LL sock! I'm rethinking the camo colourway now that I see it all knitted up. You S2S is ever so gorgeous.
Posted by: Opal at November 24, 2006 4:12 PMI love Thanksgiving too. I think it's the pumpkin pie.
You MAY have bought some Lorna's Laces, eh? :)
Posted by: Abigail at November 24, 2006 10:29 PMVery pretty yarn! It is going to make some really awesome socks!
The camo sock came out great. I made a pair of Regia camo socks once but they pooled like crazy. Yours behaved nicely.
I love the way the cammo socks came out. I don't think they'd be quite the same without the pooling.
Also, gorgous. Simply gorgeous yarn.
Posted by: G. Knerd at November 26, 2006 11:44 PMI love thanksgiving too. I don't possess your skills, so there is a bit more running around on my end and trips to 3 different grocery stores the day before. Other than that, it's pretty smooth. I missed you at the store! I was there at 6:15 and had to get back to the baby by 7am so it was zip, zip, zip and spend, spend, spend!
Posted by: Juls at November 27, 2006 8:17 AMOf course you bought some lorna's laces! You wouldn't be you if you hadn't! Love the camo sock, very chic for camo! The handspun is beautiful and the wedgewood knitting is lovely, can't wait to see what it is shaping up to be.
Posted by: courtney at November 27, 2006 1:49 PMPlied it looks so great!!!!! We can never have enough pics!
