Titania's Revenge

I posted a long time ago saying that I was really excited to be working on something with Blue Moon Fiber Arts, and now I can post pictures! The latest shipment for the BMFA Sock Club came with Socks That Rock in an exclusive colorway named Titania and a pattern I wrote called "Titania's Revenge." The colorways are named with A Midsummer Night's Dream as the theme.

These are my mostest favoritest sock pictures taken to date. (As always, click for ginormous.)

Titania's Revenge 1

A little closer.

Titania's Revenge 2

I love that leg, I really do.

Titania's Revenge 3

What I love most about this sock is the gusset/cable/lace over the foot construction, and how it all goes together in an angle. Here are some detail shots that show what I'm talking about with the construction:

I wish I had a good picture of the skein before I started knitting, but I didn't think of that before I knit the socks. Next time I know. If you want to see more pics of the sock (I got a little carried away), they are here.

Also, in the spirit of sock love, I've joined Socktoberfest! I'm going to try to take a picture each week of a sock project (probably the same sock project) and a different beer once a week. Beer and sock knitting, what a great combo!

Oh yeah, and I'm leaving for Chicago on Wednesday and will be gone for a week. There may or may not be blogging during that time. I would love to do knitterly things there, but I think the family is going to occupy all of my time.

Oh oh oh, and I am horrible to replying to comments. If you commented saying you were interested in test/sample knitting, I've made a list that I'll send emails out to when I'm ready to start some test/sample knitting (not yet, not yet). Thanks for all the support. Online knitbloggers rock!

Agh, shit I keep editing this. I forgot to say that I am soooooo ecstatic to have made the Yarn Harlot's blog!!!!!!! Somehow it makes me feel like I must be a real knitter to have made it there. Very strange feeling and awesome. And I'm glad the picture of K and me wasn't completely horrendous. Though I have to say that K looks better in real life, and I only make the crazy face for pictures. I don't permanently have the crazy face on in real life.

Oooo, I love the angle on the top of the foot.
And who couldn't get carried away taking pics with a sexy leg like that to work with.

Hey Cookie, Great pics, quite the model, yea you too. Did you gt my email about the sewing, I got a weird delayed e-mail come back to me. I have a neighbor that has a male torso, the kind thats covered in fabric, he's a visual person at Nordstroms, would you be interested in it?

I like the subtle green highlights in your hair.

Amazing work Cookie, really amazing!

Gorgeous! I love the angle of the cable. Is the pattern only available with the yarn or can it be purchased separately?

Posted by: Isela at September 17, 2006 11:20 PM

Ooooooh pretty. Love how the socks are mirrored, too!

Those socks look phenomenal, excellent job! Congratulations on making it to the Harlot's blog, what a coup! Have fun in Chicago.

I saw the photo first on flickr. It was small. At first I was confused. Your socks and the photos rock.

Posted by: Ami at September 18, 2006 5:56 AM

Those socks are gorgeous!!

Posted by: Emily at September 18, 2006 6:03 AM

Wow. That's a gorgeous, gorgeous pattern. Any chance it'll be available online anytime soon?

Socktoberfest is going to a blast! Glad you are a part of it ;)

I like your little spin on it with the beer too!

I always love all of your photos. They look so fun. Who has the honour of taking the pictures?

Posted by: Anushka at September 18, 2006 8:57 AM

This is tremendous! And hey, is that a bridesmaid dress? I think I one like it in silver. If so, sweet job on getting another wear and photo op out of it.

I love, love, love your photo shoots!

Posted by: Gina at September 18, 2006 9:13 AM

The pics are awesome, thanks for bringing back the leg! :) When I saw that your pattern was shipped w/ the new BMFA package I kept searching for a good pic of the pattern to covet-- these are great :)

I got my kit yesterday when I got home from a weekend away, and I want to make both socks! Luckily I have a couple more skiens of STR and I was thinking I'd make your pattern with one of the more solid colors so it shows up better. :)

Posted by: Ariel at September 18, 2006 9:32 AM

Utterly fantastic photos and socks as per usual. Looking forward to your Socktoberfest contributions!

I am so proud of you girly! I saw that and Squeeeeed! And now you get to do something special for ME too!!!

Posted by: Scout at September 18, 2006 11:04 AM

The socks are gorgeous! But I suppose you have to be a member of the club to get the pattern?

Posted by: Crystal at September 18, 2006 11:43 AM

Wow Cookie, I am blown away as usual. The sock is brilliant, the photos are fantastic! Is there another way to get the pattern, besides being in the sock club? :)

Posted by: Mandy at September 18, 2006 1:10 PM

I linked over from yarn harlot. The sock turned out really neat!

Posted by: Kari at September 18, 2006 2:13 PM

Those are amazing socks! Then again, I have enjoyed all your sock patterns that I've seen to date. I'll echo everyone else's question, any way to get this pattern if we are not in the sock club? :)

Posted by: Jen D. at September 18, 2006 2:43 PM

You are brilliant! It is now confirmed. That sock pattern is amazing. (and the photos aren't so bad either!)

Posted by: Kirsten at September 18, 2006 6:17 PM

Cookie, you and the leg are killing me!

Posted by: Jill at September 18, 2006 7:52 PM

Niels wanted to know whose leg that was. ;)

Posted by: Abigail at September 18, 2006 10:02 PM

You always take the best pictures!! That sock looks fabulous. I second the question of getting my hot little hands on the pattern. Any chance?

I'm excited for socktoberfest as well. I'm actually going to knit up some pomos for it! :)

Posted by: Leah at September 19, 2006 9:34 AM

Beautiful socks and very nice leg, too. Always good to have an extra in case yours goes out on you. I've been trying to join the STR club all summer, and I sent them a couple emails, but no response so far. I guess I need to wait until November, according to their website. (Not good at waiting)

Posted by: Leslie at September 19, 2006 1:05 PM

Cookie-for you to have made it into the Yarn Harlot's blog, Knitty (MANY times) and now the STR club, you are hardly and 'unknown' in this Knitter's world! From the time I made my first Hederas I said to myself, "Damn, she's good! I wanna meet her-she lives in the Bay Area!"

You are awesome!

Posted by: Leslie at September 19, 2006 3:53 PM

I just have to tell you that my husband got freaked out by those photos in the Sock Club pattern! Hahaha ...

Posted by: Agnes at September 22, 2006 10:58 AM

I hate to repeat everyone's question, but I'm vegan and I can't join things like the sock club, since they send non-vegan yarn. I love all of your patterns and I'm hoping there is some way I can get this without being in the club. Thanks!

Is there a story behind the leg? I've always wanted to get a mannekin or torso or head or something. :D

Basically nothing noteworthy happening right now, but eh. Today was a complete loss. I haven't been up to much recently. I've pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning.
