Tiny FO parade ...

Can it really be called a parade with two pairs of socks? I figured it was more parade-like because they're socks ... you know, on feet ... marching?

Maybe that only makes sense to me.

Anyway, I've been meaning to show you for a while that I did in fact finish my Pomatomus socks:

I still have not been able to take a really good picture of the color of these socks. Apparently Cookie's dye job just prefers not to be understood. The Pomatomi are much darker than these look (not surprisingly, I ended up having to use my flash for this photo due to lack of lighting). The yarn is Jaeger Matchmaker Merino I believe (?) that Cookie dyed and gave to me.

And the second entry in the FO parade is my Ripple and Weave socks from Vogue Knitting:

These are knit in Mill Ends from Cherry Tree Hill.

In case anyone is wondering, yes, these two patterns are very similar. I really like them both a lot. They are definitely my two favorite pairs of socks that I have knit. I did prefer knitting with the CTH millends to the Jaeger, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Jaeger held up longer. Overall, I enjoyed knitting both projects, and now have to re-teach myself to knit normally instead of through the back loop! I've started doing the second sock of the cabled Cherry Tree Hill sock that I made a few months ago.

Oh, and I've update the Sarcelle page so now you should get instant download information via email instead of waiting for me to send you the pattern. Please let me know if you try to buy the pattern and have any trouble with the process. Thanks again to all of you who have bought the Sarcelle pattern.

Oh, and another picture from my random-pieces-of-architecture-that-I-find-neat archives:

The Denver Convention Center. We could see this "bear" trying to get into the Convention Center from our hotel room, but I took this shot from the street.

I'll be watching for exciting architecture in MN this weekend -- high school reunion time!

One more oh, and. Oh, and it was really great seeing all of our knit buddies this weekend at the Yarn Harlot ... Cookie pretty much covered everything in her last post, so I think I'll just leave it at that! Really, we should all meet up more often! And Stephanie, you're welcome back any time, the Bay Area loved having you!

Wow, that bear is really something. I was in Denver once, but not at that end of town.

Two fabulous pairs of socks. I'm so close to finishing my Pomotomus socks I can taste it.

Love the architecture shot - fantastic!

That bear is pretty cool too!

What size needles did you end up using?

Just curious.

I bow to your sock prowess.

Love the socks. I think I need to go work on a sock (current projects in rotation do not include sock). Yes, Sockage sounds good.

I love your socks! Especially the ripple and weave. :D

Love the big blue bear too. *L*

Both pairs of socks turned out wonderfully! Yes, I can see the similarities between the patterns - but they're so similar I can't even pick a favourite unless I go by colour.

These look great! Did you find the mill ends to be any different than first quality? I'm always curious about that.

Both pairs look spectacular! I'll have to get my hands on some Cherry Hill mill ends. :)
I have a question about the Ripple and Weave...is there an error in the pattern? Is so, where is it and how did you correct it?
Thanks!
