I have another sock pattern in Summer Knitty! It's called Baudelaire, a decadent sock named after a decadent poet. Here are some more shots:
Also, to see a larger version of the chart click on it:
It is my favorite item from the latest Knitty.Thank you!!! Now, I must learn to knit socks toe-up

Posted by: Crystal at July 5, 2006 10:06 AMYeah! Congrats!! Gonna look for some sock yarn and needles now. Still working on a STR yarn pattern?
Posted by: Terry at July 5, 2006 10:19 AMYou're awesome! Thanks for the bigger chart for my older eyes.
Posted by: monica at July 5, 2006 10:39 AMThanks so much for the beautiful pattern. I have a wide foot with high instep, also, and it's so nice to have a pattern written with multiple sizes. Thanks again!
Posted by: Ginger at July 5, 2006 11:22 AMLove the new pattern! I have to say that's 3 for 3 as all of your sock patterns are just amazing.
Posted by: Toby at July 5, 2006 11:45 AMYou've done it again, Miss Cookie! These red hot socks with their lacey pattern are to die for!
Posted by: Karen B. at July 5, 2006 11:53 AMHey there, met you at Stitches, and you were wearing that FABULOUS sweater you'd designed. Have you written that up yet? But before I nag you about that, I have to tell you that the knitty sock is HOT. It might be the perfect sock. Must make some, starting right about now. Thanks for the pattern.
Posted by: Rachael at July 5, 2006 11:54 AMGoooooorgeous. I also have High Arch envy as I'm in the other Asian foot category- flat footed pancakes. They don't look so great in those high heels.
Such pretty photos, too.
Posted by: freecia at July 5, 2006 12:23 PMI haven't checked out the summer KNitty yet, but your sock is terrific.
Posted by: Rebekah at July 5, 2006 1:44 PMOnce again, you did it! I am knitting Hedera for the first time right now, and I am definitely knitting your new one, too! I've also made Poms and am currently eyeing some very nice hand-dyed bluish merino on eBay with another pair in mind!
Posted by: Sheri at July 5, 2006 4:10 PMCongratulations on having another pattern published, that's fantastic. And toe-up? Goodie goodie goodie!
Posted by: Janice at July 5, 2006 7:18 PMIt is a fantastic pattern, Cookie. I can't wait to try it!

Posted by: Julie Persinger at July 6, 2006 6:36 AMAwesome socks!! And toe up! Never made those, I think they may have to be my first toe-ups!:) BEYOOTIFUL. And I LOVE the pictures. THe light is awesome, and the mood is very nice!
Posted by: linda at July 6, 2006 9:57 AMHey there, I've been looking for a nice pair of toe-up socks for quite a while now, and was pleasantly surprised by yours: your patterns are always great, and I LOVE it that you chart them.
Posted by: anemotis at July 6, 2006 4:39 PMYou've done it again Cookie! Another brilliant pattern! Congratulations!
Posted by: Kirsten at July 7, 2006 11:25 AMHey! These are FANTASTIC. I am teaching a basic toe-up socks class (on magic loop) this fall, and at the end I'd like to give everybody the URL for this pattern on knitty so they can go look and see what they can do with their newfound skill. :) (I'm also going to wear a pair of pink and grey knee-high fishnets with beads to the class that day, too, if they actually look good on my fat legs when I'm done. :) (I'm all about the charting, too -- so much easier to read and memorize! I'd like to teach a short free class on chart-reading in the winter if they'll let me.)
Posted by: Jo at July 9, 2006 7:06 AMI'm loving Baudelaire so far - I'm on the first sock's guesset increases. I also made pomatomus - they turned out fab! Thanks for making them available :-)
Posted by: lynne s of Oz at July 10, 2006 6:14 AMI'm so behind on my blog-checking - I just spotted your new sock yesterday. It's fabulous! Whenever I get up the gumption to face my sock-knitting phobia, it will be with one of your patterns. This latest may be my favourite, and anyway I love Baudelaire. C'est l'Ennui!
Posted by: Gryphon at July 12, 2006 12:11 PMI'm making these right now, when done this will be the most gorgeous thing I have knit to date.
Seriously, this is the sock to end all socks.
Thanks for the great pattern!
:)
Posted by: Chantelle at July 15, 2006 6:00 PMHi!
Love your pattern, but I can't really understand what to do where it says SSK? Do you think you can explain it in another way?
Posted by: giramThis is such a lovely pattern! I'm running into a bit of a problem, though - in the leg part, when I'm working the charted pattern on both the front and back of the sock, do I just keep going, with row 1 in the front, row 2 in the back, and so on? Or do I knit the same row twice each time? And what if the last row before the heel is in the middle of the 8 rows - do I just start the first back rown right after that one, regardless of where it falls in the chart?
Gah, this isn't explained very well, but I can't find any other help out there...
