Overdyed

Call me crazy, but I like this:

Overdyed Wound
A lot better than this:

Dyed ugly colors

The wound picture is more representative of the actual color. I love dark rich colors. Hurray! As for the whole teal thing, I meant I was going to dye the green yarn a dark teal, not the bright sock yarn. After skeining 3 balls of that green yarn, I might give up on that plan. I hate skeining! Do you think knitting it and then dyeing the finished sweater would work? That seems like it'd be a whole lot less work.

Oooo, I like the overdyed yarn too. Congratulations on creating a colorway that you like. Yes, you can knit and dye a knit sweater in pieces. That's basically what Jeni, Mary, and I did with our Dye-o-rama sock yarn. But you'll end up with a different look... it all depends on what you're going for.

I like the overdyed but I also liked the bright one. I like everything! (HA!)

I like the overdyed yarn as well. I would opt for the easier option -- knit first, dye later. But I am lazy like that.

Ooooh... I liked the bright just 'cuase it was fun, but I really like the finished overdyed version. You're right - it is a lot better!

Nice job!

I have some yarn that I want to redye for a sweater and am thinking about the same thing. my biggest worry is that dyeing the sweater will shrink it a tad or something. I suppose careful swatching and dyeing, measuring is in order.

I'm with you, the deep rich colors are awesome. It's hard to pull of some of those bright colors sometimes, y'know?

I was so beat after two skeining sessions (one for the practice skein and one for the real swap one) that I seriously considered knitting something in its entirety and then dunking it. It just has to be less work...right?
